My tuner was so cool, he found a misfire due to a broken spark plug and stopped the session and replaced it for free and continued with the tune!

im glad i found a tuner who does mod work, i'm not mechanically inclined, except oil change, radiator flush etc. so i wont be doing any mod installs myself except a few exterior mods.

+1 for fuel filter! Was dyno-ing my subie. Tuner said I was losing fuel pressure at high rev. Thought it was my pump going... found out my in-tank fuel filter was splitting open at high pressure

Not a bad thing to swap out, they're going to do a lot of pulls so its a good idea to have freH fluids in there, and hoping that your able to get on the dyno!

Smeedia yeah lol I gotta fix my drive seat tho. One of the cables to adjust the distance fell off so it’s basically set for my short ass legs haha it’s a good anti theft system tho anyone taller then 5’4” won’t make be able to drive it. Plus the wheel is a qr 3” deep dish haha

My tuner told me breaks really don’t matter. They won’t touch the breaks at all during the dyno session, that’s what the rollers are for. But everything else is on point. Fuel is a huge one too! Make sure you have good fuel in your car!

88self Sti yup. That’s exactly what I did. 91 oct 1/4 of a tank. And I brought 10 gallons of e85 so I could make a e60 blend.

As far as the compression test goes, I’m going down to Bren tuning for a dyno in a few weeks and that was an item they specifically mentioned on the checklist they sent me.

A/f sensor,O2 sensor gets the gremlins sometimes and good luck with the stock clutch mine started slipping within few days of stage 3 1050X ots before protune.

Those are really the only ones that need attention, outside of that there are a few small ones that don't generally need to be changed for long service intervals

Some tuners suggest using the economy map, i generally prefer to use a base map made for the mkds to drive the car down

So update... I went to snail performance and ended up doing Cobb Aos Aem fuel pump Cobb SF Cylinder 4 cooling mod Access port And magically made 307whp/348whtq.... Honestly i can't belive it would make that much just with that stuff... And a mustang dyno. Thoughts? And protune obvi

@@Smeedia oh yeah and electronic boost controller (at 19psi), no down pipe, and SPT Exhaust. I agree that it seems high, I kept asking him "I can't believe it made wilt make that much" he just laughed and said "it runs great and healthy, those numbers are normal..." The car feels way better but honestly with those numbers I would expect to seriously feel a big difference. Idk it just seems odd a little bit. @smeedia Is your engine guaranteed on the dyno? Like after they do the pre dyno check and say everything is good to go, is your engine covered if it blows up. What if the tuner stuffs up your tune and it blows up!?

If it blows up it blows up lol, the pre dyno check just makes sure the car is capable of going on the dyno. If it gives out I still have to replace it lol

@@Smeedia it just says "error, not initializing' i was just flipping thru the accessport manual (its a cobb from 2005) and it says to put the car in test mode, with the plugs under the dash before reflashing. Does that sound right?

I've wanted to have a good checklist of the things to make 100% you're ready, and low and behold, you just created one with pretty much all the things! I also have to say, doing a lot of the things you've added so far, I don't know how you're doing this all without a lift. Oh man, the Down/Up pipe changes, up down up down... Keep up the great work!
