Random question but any advice/ guides for somebody who wants to get into building EJ engines? I live in an area where Subaru’s are not very common so trying to find engine building experience/help is rare to come by. I’ve been working on my 04 wrx and have gotten fairly familiar with the EJ205. I’m still learning everyday and enjoy the challenge. I’m thinking about picking up a spare 205 and doing a minor build with pistons, rods, bearings, and new crank (sti) in hopes to do a small 2.1 stroker build. My wrx isn’t my daily so I have all the time in the world to learn and build it. Appreciate all the knowledge in your videos.

Did you clean the engine bay yourself or sent it somewhere? My OBD reads Bank 1 too rich. Could that be because of a dirty MAF sensor? Love this video. Great job man.

Love your content. I don’t even own a Subaru. Never have lol. I’ve got a 11 bmw 335d, loving my diesel and I’ve been using virtual dyno for a while, love it as a tool. Do you have any tips on how to set it up to get the closest numbers to what you actually see on a mustang dyno?

A loose maf is also a good way to damage its o-ring. Even a little nick in the o-ring can make the tune off or make the car run poorly. Folks, be VERY careful about handling the maf. Apply a tiny bit of silicone lube on the o-ring when you mount the maf to avoid pinching the ring.

Curious would a pitch stop mount have prevented the engine mount failure? I installed one and also replaced the soft OEM engine mounts as well as other "parts" to get "more go" to the wheels.
@BaderBuiltRacing4 жыл бұрын
I dont see a aftermarket pitch stop mount helping to the extent of not stacking the mount. I went 9s 1/4 mile with a stock pitch stop mount lol
@soopermarkus4 жыл бұрын
No. Pitch stop only mitigates up and down motion of the engine. It does very little to resist torsional motion.

Great content man. Finally got my stage 2 tune done 2 weeks ago on my 2017 WRX. Results 288whp 302Torque on 93 pump gas. I was hoping for 300+whp. Setup was PW Verticooler/Chargepipe, GS EBCS, Intake & Catted J-pipe, R400 Cat-back, TGV EGR Delete. Should i have made more or am i going crazy? I've seen others with almost identical setup and make higher numbers than i did on 91 pump gas. It was a Mustang Dyno. Can't say i'm not frustrated with my results.Any suggestions what else i can do to achieve 300+ safely on 93 Pump gas?

Any good tuner won’t touch an aem Intake lol most tuners recommend Cobb SF.
@BaderBuiltRacing4 жыл бұрын
I’ve used them for years with zero issues, it doesn’t matter if the car gets calibrated to the intake that is on it. Now running a OTS map on the car with a intake that isn’t for the tune then yea that’ll cause an issue

What’s your opinion about e-tunes? not really close to a dyno for a protune...
@AlexTer2214 жыл бұрын
He ran hyperblue with just an etune for a while with no problems, in my opinion doesnt matter dyno tune or etune what matters is the tuner
@BaderBuiltRacing4 жыл бұрын
This is correct hyperblue has been E-Tuned ever since it’s made 1000+whp, I offer etuning for all my customers. I do recommend a dyno for 700+whp due to there’s a lot to get setup when it comes to these cars such as hobb switch for fuel pump and it makes it a lot harder to do this on the street vs on a dyno. Otherwise e tuning is a great alternative if you have the knowledge to be able to communicate with your tuner how the car is performing.
