BoostedQuickScope There is nothing that will outright “void” your warranty. Nothing. However, if something breaks, malfunctions, etc. SOA will try and most likely succeed in linking any and all hard part modifications/ecu tuning etc. as the reason for engine failure. Best advice I can give (I have a 2019 wrx and went stage 2 over 3k miles ago) is do your research intensely and then do it some more. I already have mods planned out, so I’m hoping that I’ll get a bit more reliability out of it as well as an increase in power: - TurboSmart Kompact fully recirculating bypass valve - Grimmspeed top mount intercooler - IAG AOS V3 Street version (though I’m considering the competition version - not sure if the competition version requires a tune, though I’ve heard the street version doesn’t) - Mishimoto X Line Performance aluminum radiator - GetADomTune Cylinder 4 cooling mod - Killer B oil pan kit Any 2021 WRX STI owners here, if you can, please give me some feedback on these parts if you have them. I want to be able to get a general consensus on what works and what doesn’t for these motors.

From a guy at Boost Controlled Performance, you can see upwards of 350whp and 340 ftlbs of torque. Going higher than 350 torque is what causes engines to blow on stock internals. You can obviously make around 400+ with e85 BUT you need upgraded pistons and conrods.

Hey @Smeedia, I just want to make a correction on what you said: Stage 1 for WRX: you literally only need the accessport and flash it on all stock parts, not the intake. I know "opinions" varies, but if you consult forums and reputable tuners, they'll tell you that the intake is one of the LAST mods you should do. The factory one is actually very good up to ~400HP. Cold air intake is nothing more than a sweet noise maker and at most, you'll gain 5-10hp for a $300-$400 upgrade. You're better off spending that money on a AOS and TGV/EGR delete than an aftermarket intake. PS- I'm not biased. My WRX is a "stage 3" track-oriented car. And I have an aftermarket CAI.

I’d advocate for intercooler as soon as you start modding your car. Oem intercoolers struggle stock in general let alone with more power. Add ETS front mount/tmic to one of the first things you do. Doesn’t change noise or power, but it lets you keep things cooler which is super important. And in turn helping power more consistently

@@bruceholinight7978 then trans is the biggest selling point, I've had 2 FA WRXs but both of them were only stage 1. The trans was one of the reasons I went back. I sold my 2007 STI for a 2016 WRX and only had it for about 6 months. I was not a fan of the cable style transition compared to the STIs. But it's good to know the insight between hownthebpiwer is displaced with the trans for a stage 2 WRX!

@@Smeedia yea sir !! This is how they should of been built since conception. I for one hope the next Gen STI goes DIT/Port and stick with 0° angle rods. FA are great for good street use power. Pro built they still can't get over 500whp. EJs are well over 800+whp daily drivers.

Just out of curiosity, does this apply to the 2020 sti’s as well or just 2019 model? Thanks!

@@alexprice2253 19+ all have the 18 RA short block. Revised pistons and better bearing tolerances, not sure about material in the bearings being better just more uniform which helps with better oiling.

I'm off the DYNO from PREracing making 354hp! Pretty much stock which held back a few things including fuel pressure being too lean in cold weather. They recommend I upgrade it so it won't suffer from low compression like the last one. Stage 2 short block is rated for +400hp but I can't imagine going over that. I'm looking to reinforce the motor by upgrading it's cooling components (fan shroud, hoses, Subaru Super Coolant, GetaDomTune cylinder 4 mod etc) in hopes of avoiding any problems down the line. Past that, replacing my N1 setup for a grimmspeed downpipe + HKS carbon fiber straight pipe \m/

@@Smeedia everything seems to be going good! I've been playing with some 2 step thanks to my new COBB “co-pilot” accessport but shifting alone gets it to pop like mad which in turn, makes people want to race but I only got 4K miles on the motor. Not looking to replace it anytime soon haha

Im about to buy my 1st Subaru. Definitely looking at the Corsa sport exhaust. These cars won't touch raw American horse power but that's not why I'm buying one. All wheel drive and excellent on back country dirt roads with mud. That's where it shines. Any advice on tires? Mud and gravel tire
@cassiejvance74964 жыл бұрын
Watching this a second time and have to say, something that would really set this car apart from every other Subaru, and remember this comment is going back in time 🙄🤣. But yeah I think you should get the wheel nuts and the break calipers paint in the subaru blue. I think that would put so much class into your build

I just bought a 2017 wrx and i had no information really on what is done on it, it has all stock and not tunes on it but i noticed the exhuast sounded funny and it has cattless j pipe into a stock axle back Exhaust so its sounds super tinny and its stock with no tune, what are the steps you think to make it proper get cat back exhaust and the and intake and get it tuned?
@Smeedia2 жыл бұрын
Definitely add a resonator, will help to clean up the ting sounds, catback, intake and you can just use an OTS Tune 🙏

Stage 1.5: Cobb AP Intake ELH Catback Protune AOS (optional though highly recommended) Made stage 2 power (301whp/321wtq) on a Dynojet running 92 pump. Powerband is linear and spread out across the RPM range rather than just a slap in the face prior to falling flat on the floor with a downpipe. No boost creep.

It used to be... slap a larger turbo, injector, fuel pump, fuel regulator and whack it. OR For those who are slightly loaded with money will go for forged internals, larger turbo, injectors, and bla bla support mods. Tuner / dealer nowadays “stage one intake + this + that” “stage two...” and so on.

Power levels for the WRX are a little bit high. I have a '17 WRX with a Mishimoto race intake(recommended by the tuner), full 3" turboback exhaust, Grimmspeed EBCS, Perrin turbo sump restrictor and a pro tune at 17lbs and 20lbs on the accessport. So essentially Stage 2 with a couple extras. The tuner said my car hit right in the middle of typical car with my mods which mine came out at 277whp and 302ftlbs tq at 20lbs.
@Smeedia4 жыл бұрын
I've seen a few people post similar to your comment ranging from 270ish up to about 330ish interesting tone such a gap between cars. Also depends on the tuner, location and fuel. Appreciate you posting your numbers up for people as well!

@@Smeedia Not to mention the dyno itself(Mustang vs Dynojet). Should have mentioned I run 93 Octane and that is what it was tuned with.
