@@gtghighlights2881 They build in alot of loopholes. You get 1 day off for 7 days you work. I live in the "home every two weeks" area. Let's say I come back to work on the 1st of the month. You need to wait 1 week before you can request home time. On the 6th I'm in Pennsylvania and they send me a load to California. Let's say that's a six day trip and if you're west of I35 they require two weeks from that delivery to get you home. So you get to CA on the 12th and it's two weeks (the 26th) until you can get home. The 1st through the 26th sure doesn't sound like two weeks to me. Most of the guys who last with Melton don't really have a home to get back to

I noticed many recruits at orientation or school don’t really understand many things and they talk about it only if someone talks about it, its like they are embarrassed to ask questions when in doubt in the classrooms. There are no dumb questions!!! My Dad was a trucker i wish he would have spoken to me about his troubles i may have been able to help specially when internet can be used as to laws that protect drivers from receivers. Thats why i have always enjoyed speaking to elders to learn and combine with new to do the best. But my Dad passed away before i could speak to him, i was a stay at home Mom back then, and i did not question anything that was going on. My Dad made lots of $ with heart ache hard work abused by companies that retained him long hours then expected him to reach consignee on time, he took my Mom so she could help him stay awake. So much hard work, sacrifice to die so young

I was in the crumbs. promise of .55 per mile, turned into .28, and maybe after a year, would make .38 cpm. company two, stated and was confirmed. No BS. straight up. Bro, why didn't this video ever come out in my recommendations when I was making my decision to being a truck diver.. Only videos recommended were "make over $1000-2000 a week." Went with CR England believing they would train me, pay me, and not pay a single dime if I worked a year for them. Biggest mistake.. Went with a student and instructor.. Hoped off that truck after a week of driving.. The two-three hours the other student drove were only a nightmare.. Almost flipped the truck three times in Utah.. So on the way back to my home state of California. We got a call from our DM: Y'all got a load heading to Selma, CA. It's snowing up there. Be adviced. Hah, get me off this truck. I rather pay my tuition than die cause of this boozo not having paid attention in school. I still have my CDL, but it's a reminder of all the lies fed to me. You would have saved me tons TB.. It wasn't so bad at the end. I got more respect for truckers now, having lived their lifestyle for a good month and a week. As for my contract, I did a one time settlement with the financing company for $3,000. Beats paying $6,000 upfront or $9,000 with the 18.99% interest.

@cliffgiordane29695 жыл бұрын
@@aglass77 a year and a half, they are ok sometimes and sometimes they're not. If you plan to go OO with them your best bet is going used or bringing on a truck you get from somewhere else. The payment for a brand new cascadia freightliner is almost 1100 a week that's before fuel and before you get your own health insurance, so estimate closer to 2k. They give you 65% of the loads you haul. It you're going OO from company with them you need no overspeed (which is anything over 63 on the pedal) no critical events which is considered hard braking, aggressive cornering or closer than 7 second following distance for longer than 2 seconds. You want all of your loads to be on time so your and no moving violations or accidents or weigh station tickets so your CSA score is good enough in their eyes. I qualified for all this back in December I was planning to go OO in January with them to start the new year but they brought me in the office at Harrisburg and pretty much tried to talk me out of it. The bald guy that use to be a cop I can't remember his name was spewing some mess about how you make the same as company drivers and how this year the market is suppose to dip so it's probably best to stay company. I was still going to do it then they told me I couldn't bring the company truck to their OC in Wisconsin for the orientation and to move the things over to my new truck I was to deliver it to Carlisle and find my way to Wisconsin i decided OO with this company wasn't for me lol

I started trucking in 2016. Started my research around May of that year and by August I had narrowed it down to 2 companies, Swift and Prime. I called prime first, hoping to go with them. The recruiter I had said some dumb shit that kept me from going with them. I found out later he did that shit to other people who had him as a recruiter. Since Prime wouldn't take me, I went with Swift. August of that year I went to trucking school, a month later, I had a mentor I went out with for a month. I then stayed with swift til January 2018. I left them and went to a smaller company doing local work. Stayed a month and quit. I waited until may of 2018 and went with JB hunt. Stayed 3 months and quit. I took the rest of 2018 off and evaluated my life and career. I got my twic, passport, hazmat and tanker endorsements. I just started with schneider and running their tanker division. We will see how things work out. I have videos on my channel talking about it.
