That’s crazy I thought Smile 2 was way better than the original. Everything felt bigger and the stakes felt higher and most importantly the pace felt so much more natural than the original did. This is how you make an edge of your seat horror film. It’s definitely a 8.5/10 for me. But I appreciate and respect your review as always!!

Same on all points. Really enjoyed it more than the first. BUT, after the gory deaths, the final death was a bit disappointing. Needed to end with a shocker. Sounds morbid. But that's me. 😊

Smile 2 was insane, absolutely amazing even though the ending was predictable it was exactly what i wanted and executed so creepy and perfect for what id imagine, definitely going to see again, love the mind games even though some lf it "wasn't real" still left me with so much to digest and ponder on, left the movies shocked and so happy theres been so many amazing horror movies within the past months :')

By the way, there was no dull moment. It felt like being in a crazy 2 hour rollercoaster ride. When I got up from my seat, I almost lost my balance. It gave me an adrenaline rush! It just kept getting better & better. I haven't seen a horror movie like this in a very long time. I left wanting to see it again. I wasn't exhausted at all. Sorry to disappoint you.

I actually prefer Smile 2 in terms of the character, the intensity, the ending, the performance, all of that's better than the first but the smile gimmick is more creepy in the first one, in this one maybe I'm in the minority but it felt sillier this time. Also i was laughing a few times in this film when it's supposed to be scary 😂 especially when she sent the old lady flying to the table. Overall, even with that flaws, i think a lot of stuff is better than the first one. So, the movie is better for me

The only good smiles were the mother and the little girl, overall they didn't have the same terrifying impact from the first movie. The patient and the therapist from 1 are burned into my brain forever.

I laughed during the scene where all the people were there moving towards her in her room. It reminded me of the horror short the box? I think that's the one. Where you aren't supposed to look away. But I really enjoyed this one much better than the first!

It was exhausting, and that's credit to the amazing acting and put you right in her shoes. Alot of effective jump scares, but alot of the reality blurs did become a little tiresome towards the end.

Yes, the entity is impossible to beat by the infected. What draws you to it is the struggle of flawed characters with no chance of victory. And Skye was a fighter.

With how effective the first Smile was, it really let me down with how it built up its scares. The ambience, queitness, score, and character depth in the first movie all felt better executed. Im shocked to see so many comments shitting over the first movie, and saying that the first one was too off paced. Smile 2 feels like the scares are less thought out, and didn't fully come together by the end of it. Excited for the review!

First movie was the scariest movie I've seen in theaters. This one didn't even come close to achieving what it did the first time. I think it's just more "entertaining" and mass appealing. It hurts me a little to see everyone shitting on the one that is clearly better to me.

Just seen Smile 2 last night on the ETX screen and wow it was insane i loved the sound effects and the dirty underwear made everyone die in the theater..I believe it was scarier than the first but i love both movies ❤ Also the music was so freaking good I'd listen to Skye Riley anytime

As soon as I read “pop star” in the premise, I figured I knew right away how it was going to end. I haven’t read or seen any spoilers, but I mean… I’m sure it’s exactly what I think it is. I think the reality play was one of the best part! Not knowing what’s real and what isn’t especially trough out the end of the movie mindfucked me so hard. I do agree that it is in a way exhausting, however I think it’s not a type of bad exhaustion, it makes you feel immersed and as if you were in her place. It makes it hard to keep up when there’s shock after plot twist thrown at you but that’s how it’s intended to be. The way I had no idea what to expect throughout the entire movie while i was so immersed that I started feeling negative emotions due to everything going downhill felt so well executed and had me questioning reality after I was finished. I defenetly recommend watching the movie if you enjoy psychological horror!

Someone guessed the ending before it even came out and after reading it... I was like, despite being a theory, there is no way it could end in any other way now I think about it. That upset me cause I wouldn't have guessed it beforehand. I loved it. Directing and acting was absolutely brilliant. Playing with reality was it's biggest negative, but I still live the film overall.

Damn that's disappointing where I can understand where you're coming from but for me this was executed brilliantly one jumpscare that was in the trailer I saw it coming as it was setting up and my soul still jumped out of my body. Scariest movie of the year for me personally. This was everything I wanted. It is repetitive of course but the Execution makes it seem fresh.

I also called the ending months ago when I first heard the premise of the sequel. However, my screening in Sydney had a Q+A with Parker Finn where he said he thinks that the ending is the obvious and most natural conclusion to the story and assumes a lot of people predicted it too, but what he finds interesting is the journey we go on to get to that foredrawn conclusion.

I thought smile 2 was better, scares were great and had me at high tension the whole time character was interesting and was slightly more invested, and I’ll agree it ended how I thought it was gonna end, but I felt it was executed a little better than I initially thought it would play out, though the final shot I’ll say was kind of a goofy image, overall I think I liked this one better

Very surprised to hear such an underwhelmed reaction... to each their own and all that but I really considered this to be an absolute masterpiece. I think Naomi Scott's performance was incredible. Genuinely one of the best acting performances I've ever seen in the genre. Pacing was A LITTLE bit rough but, barely even noticeable. I'd give Smile2 a solid 9/10

I just loved both the movies. Smile 1 and 2 are very enjoyable horror movies. I really enjoyed some of the horror movies this year. Longlegs, smile 2, alien romulus, the substance,terrifier3, and even Salem's lot were great. Great year for great horror movies.

Terrifier 3 is ok at best the gimmick of those films are kinda over staying its welcome where Smile 2 should be seen for its visuals its production its scares the tone and sound design are phenomenal with a solid lead and a setup for a satisfying trilogy in the making. Plus the director is improving with his style making creative choices that shows he grown. Let's be honest the only thing Art the clown has going for him is his humor and shock value

They are ramping up the stories and characters in terrifier, as seen with 2 and 3. I get not liking the first one for those reasons due to a lack of story and characters, but those flaws have been buffered out. Funny that as soon as terrifier becomes the highest grossing movie, criticism shifts to "people are getting tired of the formula of terrifier already." (??? More than just gore going for the franchise lol?)

I think he is directly on the mark. The first movie was just a better horror movie. This one was not scary in the slightest and just relied on body gore for disturb factor. I liked things about it but it just doesn't compare to the atmospheric and tension the first film had.

Gonna have to disagree, this felt more like a studio project than the first movie. And by that I mean it feels like the film uses scares less authentically than in the first movie. The first movie really gets you creeped out with how deliberate every shot and sound are placed, and that doesn't show in the second movie as much. Not a bad movie but the first one is easily better due to the scares and ambiance.

I liked, but I will agree it was exhausting. It was that "give us a break" meme in my head repeatedly. Never felt so dry and drowned by watching water chugging before. As someone struggling to feel hydrated while I drink a lot of water and vivid dreamer... this movie felt like a personal attack. Car stuff was anxiety fuel since I don't drive and I have avoided voicing my feelings in a car with an abuser. But, the scare with that crazy fan and the clothes... hard to not bust out in horror filled laughter. That was dirty, literally.

I’m not gonna lie the part that made this movie truly good to me was when she took the pills in the bathroom then the dance crew ended up in her apartment. The feeling of that many ppl being in your home out of nowhere was an eerie feeling.

I think they knew what they were doing with the ending. But absolutely NO ONE saw how they were gunna do it, which when we saw it happening still blew me away. I think this will be another critics vs audience situation where average moviegoers will enjoy it more than critics who are paying attention to detail and are tired of wash rinse repeat tactics like dreams sequences, fake out deaths and logic issues

I was thoroughly entertained by this movie. I did enjoy the first one and I thought the sequel delivered. It was similar enough to feel at home and at the same time different enough not to feel like a rehash. Naomi Scott filled in the shoes excellent Suzie Bacon from the first movie. I was very impressed with her, she performed her heart out.
