well originally the first one was supposed to be a straight to streaming movie on Paramount+ but test screening previews were positive so they theatrically released it in theaters and it ended up being successful from box office, critics and audiences, so they ended up doing a sequel.

@@latishabuckner8231 Difference being with sequel slashers you're not really expecting much different. That doesn't mean you don't want to see something different for example scream franchise despite doing a lot of the same stuff at least will shake the formula a tiny bit with each movie. Edit: Also wanted to add that this isn't a slasher it's psychological horror and in my personal opinion this trailer didn't really capture that horror in a good way.

I gotta disagree with yall on smile was bad, in my opinion it was one of the best in recent years. The soundtrack, the slow process of how the main character mental state slowly as time goes on. While i agree the smile itself is a bit goofy, i will say i think the movie did a good job at making it feel like a nightmare that just simply dont end. Now would i put it above old classically horror movies or hell even some other note worthy horror movies that came out in recent years like hereditary HELL NAH. But i wouldnt cal it bad or even mid its more on...its decent/good in my eyes.

yea it actually is like a mix between "Truth or Dare" and the other horror movie "It Follows". the first one really was wild tho and had a whooole bunch of potential in my eyes. but i agree with what these guys said, that ending fell pretty flat for me. not as severe as they're putting it tho. i just thought the ending could have been better written, because the visuals were insane....its just that the plot of the ending wasn't very sensible or even understandable to me.

Spoilers: I don’t know how this will go one of two ways. One, the main character dies at the end(like the character in the first movie), or they figure out how to stop the curse which would end up ruining the overall fear factor of the first movie.
