I see a lot of negative comments about the trailer. But after viewing the documentary at the Florida Film Festival and listening to the Director being interviewed my take away is this: The director had a personal connection via her husband that was a cast member. He refused to be interviewed by his wife and asked her to find out what it was about on her own. So she did and uncovered the truth that spanned back to post WWII. It was a well balanced piece for a "Outsider Artist/Director".

We were excited to see Up with People featured in the Rose Parade in 2008, because my wife and I were involved with the Up with People cast of Sing Out St.Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Florida while I was stationed at MacDill AFB from 1965 - 1968. After all these years we still remember the lyrics of the Up with People songs and they are as timely now as they were then.

I traveled in Cast C 94 and likening UWP to a cult is right on the money. Not everyone was satisfied to simply accept whatever was being fed to us UWP-style and understand that even given the most positive, idealogical appearance, there are still things that run counter. UWP was great for some and not others, and I applaud anyone who is willing to peel the onion and let others decide for themselves.

I'm excited to see this movie! I worked on three sides of UWP: student, staff, and sponsor, and the experience was as astounding as the opportunities it has opened to me since. It will be great if the movie achieves a well rounded perspective on the history of this organization ("let others decide" as L2PSandK says). The edits in the preview seem to cast a post-9/11 cynical revision on some of what was happening, but hopefully the full film will flesh things out!

from anywhere else to promote or assist the up with people organization. Up with people was a fine organization and group of young people doing fine things for themselves their communities and the country. . I was a member of 2 local groups for 3 years and it was very different from how it is being portrayed in theis socalled documentary video

Anyone have video clips from the original Sing Out... Schick Television Color Spectacular from 1965? The record was produced by Moral Re-armament, Inc.? I FINALLY found the entire original recording in digital format, recently and would love to see video clips.

The whole closet case thing kind of pisses me off! I am an A06 kid and I don't feel like being openly gay was taboo. I guess it's a generational thing but UwP has definitely changed since the 70s 80s and 90s. I think now UwP really is open to diversity and not just saying they are. This documentary seems very biased so far.

You can't review a 82 minute documentary after only seeing 7:55 of it.

I had to "dislike" this vid but it was a reluctant choice: I don't dislike what's depicted, nor Up With People, just the fact that this video clip flung encapsulations and conclusions at the viewer without backing up anything or providing contextual justification for any of those conclusions. That the various allegations presented don't even add up or resolve only makes it harder to endorse.
