+ampatau MUSLIM INVENTED: 1. SurgeryAround the year 1,000, the celebrated doctor Al Zahrawipublished a 1,500 page illustrated encyclopedia of surgery that was used in Europe as a medical reference for the next 500 years. Among his many inventions, Zahrawi discovered the use of dissolving cat gut to stitch wounds -- beforehand a second surgery had to be performed to remove sutures. He also reportedly performed the first caesarean operation and created the first pair of forceps.2. CoffeeNow the Western world's drink du jour, coffee was first brewed in Yemen around the 9th century. In its earliest days, coffee helped Sufis stay up during late nights of devotion. Later brought to Cairo by a group of students, the coffee buzz soon caught on around the empire. By the 13th century it reached Turkey, but not until the 16th century did the beans start boiling in Europe, brought to Italy by a Venetian trader.3. Flying machine"Abbas ibn Firnas was the first person to make a real attempt to construct a flying machine and fly," said Hassani. In the 9th century he designed a winged apparatus, roughly resembling a bird costume. In his most famous trial near Cordoba in Spain, Firnas flew upward for a few moments, before falling to the ground and partially breaking his back. His designs would undoubtedly have been an inspiration for famed Italian artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci's hundreds of years later, said Hassani.4. UniversityIn 859 a young princess named Fatima al-Firhi founded the first degree-granting university in Fez, Morocco. Her sister Miriam founded an adjacent mosque and together the complex became the al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University. Still operating almost 1,200 years later, Hassani says he hopes the center will remind people that learning is at the core of the Islamic tradition and that the story of the al-Firhi sisters will inspire young Muslim women around the world today.5. AlgebraThe word algebra comes from the title of a Persian mathematician's famous 9th century treatise "Kitab al-Jabr Wa l-Mugabala" which translates roughly as "The Book of Reasoning and Balancing." Built on the roots of Greek and Hindu systems, the new algebraic order was a unifying system for rational numbers, irrational numbers and geometrical magnitudes. The same mathematician, Al-Khwarizmi, was also the first to introduce the concept of raising a number to a power.6. Optics"Many of the most important advances in the study of optics come from the Muslim world," says Hassani. Around the year 1000 Ibn al-Haitham proved that humans see objects by light reflecting off of them and entering the eye, dismissing Euclid and Ptolemy's theories that light was emitted from the eye itself. This great Muslim physicist also discovered the camera obscura phenomenon, which explains how the eye sees images upright due to the connection between the optic nerve and the brain.7. MusicMuslim musicians have had a profound impact on Europe, dating back to Charlemagne tried to compete with the music of Baghdad and Cordoba, according to Hassani. Among many instruments that arrived in Europe through the Middle East are the lute and the rahab, an ancestor of the violin. Modern musical scales are also said to derive from the Arabic alphabet.8. ToothbrushAccording to Hassani, the Prophet Mohammed popularized the use of the first toothbrush in around 600. Using a twig from the Meswak tree, he cleaned his teeth and freshened his breath. Substances similar to Meswak are used in modern toothpaste.9. The crankMany of the basics of modern automatics were first put to use in the Muslim world, including the revolutionary crank-connecting rod system. By converting rotary motion to linear motion, the crank enables the lifting of heavy objects with relative ease. This technology, discovered by Al-Jazari in the 12th century, exploded across the globe, leading to everything from the bicycle to the internal combustion engine.10. Hospitals"Hospitals as we know them today, with wards and teaching centers, come from 9th century Egypt," explained Hassani. The first such medical center was the Ahmad ibn Tulun Hospital, founded in 872 in Cairo. Tulun hospital provided free care for anyone who needed it -- a policy based on the Muslim tradition of caring for all who are sick. From Cairo, such hospitals spread around the Muslim world. AND MUCH MORE.....

Sometimes I also like to engage in discussions. I also like to watch videos of different people describing their beliefs and debates. It doesn't mean I'm attracted to those beliefs, otherwise I would be attracted to many incompatible beliefs. Yeah, there are atheist trolls. +faissialoo Hamza commits plently of fallacies himself from strawmans to red herrings. He also uses the ad hominem fallacy but I guess his fans see it as entertainment. Hamza and iREA are terrible at philosophy. They will regret every last misrepresentation they have generated in the minds of the ignorant. In a few years a secular version of iREA will be developed and real philosophy will spread. In the meantime the actual representations of philosophy are taught at universities, published in journals in which people like Hamza cannot touch, for his target audience has no interest in learning.

God is not binded by time, space or energy. Well you're busy focusing on finding 'Who created the universe', your time is already running out. I like atheists, no doubt, but many of them are so clever that they end up being dumb. Now they'll come up with some argument and call this baseless. You'll spend 99% of your time refuting and arguing, why not take the 1% to actually seek God. Make Wudooh, Put your head to the ground and ask for signs. And do so with an open heart. You won't believe how different you'll feel. Open any random page in Qur'an and you'll find it relating to you in someway. These aren't just probabilities. Don't reply or argue. Just try it for yourself. Consider these two points, things will start to make sense.

Atheist objections are simply a reflection of their arrogant stubbornness.
@AtheistBulldozer8 жыл бұрын
+DrKildem Theists insults are a reflection of their ignorance and irrationality. I can back up what I'm saying. Attacking a character 'reflection of their arrogant stubbornness' rather than the argument is a logical fallacy... fallacy meaning nonsense. Those who commit logical fallacies are irrational. Secondly seeing as you willingly commit logical fallacies and think to yourself that you are making a good point... this demonstrates your ignorance as to how debates work. Unless you explain yourself comments like "Atheist objections are simply a reflection of their arrogant stubbornness.! are nothing more than assertions which boil down to cheap rhetoric on your part.
@DrKildem8 жыл бұрын
+AtheistBulldozer "Attacking a character 'reflection of their arrogant stubbornness' rather than the argument is a logical fallacy" Tut, tut. I committed no fallacy. I am indeed attacking character but I am not thereby refuting any argument. I am not addressing any argument. "seeing as you willingly commit logical fallacies and think to yourself that you are making a good point... this demonstrates your ignorance as to how debates work." Hmm. Would that be logical fallacies like: there is no physical evidence for Allah, therefore He does not exist. Analogous to: there is no physical evidence for alien life outer space, therfore they do not exist. Atheist logic. You gotta love it!
@AtheistBulldozer8 жыл бұрын
DrKildem "Tut, tut. I committed no fallacy. I am indeed attacking character but I am not thereby refuting any argument. I am not addressing any argument." Still you said "Atheist objections" which suggests you were making reference to arguments that atheists have for them holding their position. So I'm not sure if you were committing the fallacy or not.. but lets assume you didn't. In that case if you are not addressing any argument then this attack on character is still dishonest and adds nothing to the conversation. "Hmm. Would that be logical fallacies like: there is no physical evidence for Allah, therefore He does not exist." LOL remind me what logical fallacy that commits? You have red herring fallacies, Ad hominem, circular reasoning etc. Asking for evidence is not a logical fallacy. You are attacking a strawman... you have committed the strawman fallacy, by misrepresenting the argument. Atheists do not say god 100% does not exist, they are simply expressing that they have no reason to believe in a god. There is a chance he/she/it may exist but its so unlikely that they don't believe it... hence atheists lack a belief in god. The fact that they ask for evidence of his/her/it's existence shows they are prepared to change their mind if there is a case for gods existence. So basically you are a liar.... you sit there shamelessly lying about your opponents position, completely misrepresenting them... when someone relies on a logical fallacy like a strawman it makes it even harder to imagine a god would exist, when his/her/it's followers outright lie about those who inquire about the arguments for his/her/its existence. So lets go over this again. First you attack character which is completely irrelevant to the debate. THEN you build a strawman and misrepresent non believers. "Analogous to: there is no physical evidence for alien life outer space, therfore they do not exist." Oh as for alien life... thats a stupid example as we know life requires water, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen etc... We know there are billions of planets out there. Statistically there is a good chance for a planet to be in the goldilocks zone, with that planet having the right material to form life. And what do you consider to be alien life? If we found a strain of bacteria on another planet that would be alien life. Saying that statistically there is a good chance that life exists is a form of INDUCTIVE REASONING. That form of logic commits no fallacy, unless of course you can demonstrate? "Atheist logic. You gotta love it!" Now you've comitted an ad hominem fallacy. See you were trying to address an argument so this time you did commit the fallacy (lets be honest a misrepresented version of an argument). To basically attack the non believers character by saying "Atheist logic. You gotta love it!" suggests you are saying we are wrong because we are flawed characters in which we have flawed logic. Well that commits a logical fallacy on your part. Most importantly you said atheists commit a fallacy when asking for evidence of gods existence. You never explained what fallacy. Your alien example was refuted. So you've demonstrated no logical flaw. "Atheist logic. You gotta love it!" Define logic. I really believe you don't know what logic means. Explain to me what logic is and how it works. If you can't then you are an engaging in conversations that is beyond you at this stage in your academic development.
@DrKildem8 жыл бұрын
+AtheistBulldozer "LOL remind me what logical fallacy that commits?" Easy. It's logically fallacious to say that the absence of a specific evidence is evidence of absolute absence. Refer to the alien example for clarity on the matter. "Atheists do not say god 100% does not exist..." Lie. Whom are you trying to fool? Atheist make the *knowledge claim* that there is no divine creator. Knowledge claims are 100% certainty claims. Dispute all you will, you are in denial. " So basically you are a liar.... " Says the liar who does not even know what he believes in and does not know the difference between a mere *ad hominem* and an *ad hominem logical fallacy* "Define logic" That part of the rational system which is noticeably absent from arrogant, pig headed, presumptious, mainly-internet atheists.

The statement can make perfect sense to you, but for me it's funny. I don't think it's wrong, I'm just laughing hard at what he said. Like why would he say you can't ask the question of why god exists just because he was already there, that just triggers laughter in my brain, because I can ask and try to find the answers to whatever I want LOL. Also, how do you guys know god exists? Is it just because of your faith? Have you seen signs that completely convince you of the dude's existence?

+Asadullah Ali al-Andalusi -- I agree; Theism is a sufficient explaination for the universe. But when we talk about causality it's 2 pronged. You must demonstrate a cause (God in this case) is sufficient *and* necessary. If not, anything can be used. For example, universe-making aliens is a sufficient explanation for the universe. So is magic. See what I'm saying? You think Atheists are incoherent because they say "We don't know" and you smile and think, "Don't know? But I have the answer!" well, you're missing the crucial ingredient: your answer hasn't yet been demonstrated to be *necessarily true*. This is why God hasn't been scientifically proven, and why all apologists will tell you that Faith is the reason to believe, not evidence.

+Josef Wilson do you believe that the heavens and earth are developed truthfully? Or is the world just out there?
@rw84679 жыл бұрын
+azadam1000 I don't really understand the question - are you asking if I believe that the natural world is all that exists? I'm not a philosophical naturalist -- I don't know if heaven exists. I am a methodological naturalist. Basically, my position is that the supernatural hasn't been demonstrated to exist. If it is, then I'll believe it. simple!
@azadam10009 жыл бұрын
Josef Wilson No problem sometimes textual conversations are not that clear. As Muslims we believe that the heavens and earth are created TRUTHFULLY . This is a verse in the quran , it is written in 29:44 . 'Allah has created the heavens and earth truthfully, this is a sign for the believers '' Another verse in the quran 40:57 'for sure the creation of the heavens and earth is greater than creation of mankind but most of mankind know not '' So brother(in humanity) Josef Wilson I want your opinion about how I look at these verses. When I read these two verses I ask myself do some people really believe that the world is created i truth/logic or do some people just interpret the world in that way? I also don't believe that the cosmos is autonomous and if that is the case then why should mother nature care anyway to give us such an ability to reflect upon existence of nature objectively since it does not have that power. It exists relative and not absolute . For example Allah says creation of heavens and earth is greater so if it had been His will we would do the things we do without being conscious of terms such as logic It is an amazing world Josef, people assume that we abide to changes taking place in the cosmos but as a Muslim I believe both you and me and the cosmos obey to the will of the Absolute . there is nothing independent in the cosmos (not God paticle or gravity ) so if guided a truthseeker will always be guided to the truth to know who the Originator is . (not the Multiverse) The difference between us and the cosmos from an islamic perspective besides us being very small compared to heavens and earth is that Allah offered trust to heavens , earth and mountains but only mankind accepted the trust .

Hamza you can't dismiss arguments by claiming 'something was always there' without offering an explanation for how it was always there, which in this case means before the universe existed. An eternity is an eternity, so on Allah's timeline he sat around for an eternity before creating the universe? What did Allah do during this eternity? Why did he wait for an eternity? Maybe he just got bored, or maybe, just maybe, he's a figment of your imagination!

@matthewimposter80108 жыл бұрын
Shinning Stars How about you prove God exists, logically, intelligently, intellectually and comprehensively? Hamza certainly hasn't and neither have you. In fact, nobody has, so why demand evidence from us as though the existence of God depends on it? If there's no proof God exists then it is not necessary to explain how matter exists before ruling out God's existence. God does not exist whether or not we can explain matter. It is intellectually lazy to invent something just to fill a void in one's knowledge. The God of the gaps as it is known. We've moved beyond such stupidity - time you did!
@matthewimposter80108 жыл бұрын

Islam is based off the words of God and is the only true religion. So your calling the religion and words of God poop? When the Quran was revealed people claimed that it could've been written by any human being. They tried to replicate the calligraphy however they failed. 80% of the scientific discoveries that were only discovered a few hundred years ago were already written in the Quran and have been proven, and 20% is still yet to be proven. So how could someone have known about all of that 1,400 years ago? The answer is only God.

This is bad logic. He is presenting the argument as if the atheist is the person who claims that something had to have been created to exist. That is the thesis of the theist. The atheist argument is that this logic is flawed. He actually proves his own ideology wrong by saying that it doesn't make any sense because this is a never-ending problem. The theist is the one who claims that it had to have been created, which is a problem because that logic will never resolve. The atheist says "well who created god" to refute the logical method being used by the theist to claim that because something exists, it must have been created. This was perpetually evidenced, as when we discovered the Higgs Bosson particle, instead of accepting that as progress of the explanation, the theist commmunity rejected it and said "WELL WHO CREATED THE PARTICLE?". I''m sure if the answer was that it had "always been there", it would be widely rejected by theists, regardless of that explanation being infinitely better evidenced than anything to the contrary. Science has many different explanations for the origins of the universe, and many of them are incomplete. Atheists do not claim to know what we have not fully been able to explain yet, whereas a theist will replace that lack of current knowledge with a "creator" or god. This is poor reasoning, because many of times when theists have done this in the past, they have been proven wrong when science finally does figure out what really happened. I usually like to listen to an entire segment on theistic debates because they are extremely interesting, but honestly, this first point was so intellectually flawed that I got disappointed and bored immediately. This seems like a muslim-pandered segment and I'm sure this comment will be downvoted to oblivion, but it's the truth so it had to be said.

+Omar Yussuf Muse Who, or what, created time before there wasn't even time to even think of such a concept? Wouldn't time be needed, for a god to supposedly create it, before it could ponder upon the fact that time is necessary? How can a god exist before time ever existed?
@luckymehehe52499 жыл бұрын
+yaqub abdusalaam For there to be a past, present, and future there had to be a time to contemplate those subjects. A baby is never born omniscient... so how can an unproven god be born knowing how to create time the exact second that it was born?
@Tenzek9 жыл бұрын
+Omar Yussuf Muse An example of something not created would be anything and everything that we have observed so far, hence the law of conservation of energy is still considered valid. A more specific example would be a tree. It grows from a seed. That seed is produced through natural processes that we understand by a previous tree, but with no evidence of a supernatural aid. It is fundamentally made up of mass that has existed as far back as we can see, with no evidence of any creation involved at any point along the way. Having a limit to how far back we can see has never been a valid justification for supernatural claims. Reaching a point of total human ignorance and using that as your evidence is the definition of a logical fallacy called an argument from ignorance, so it would be fair to call it _bad logic._ If you can only respond by pointing out the infinite regress of _what created the step before,_ you're pointing out the flaw in assuming creation in the first place. We have no evidence of creation, and the logic behind any formulation of it results in a contradiction that makes it seem impossible. Inventing a god like they did when they didn't understand lightning is just as poor of a solution today as it was then.
@Tenzek9 жыл бұрын
+yaqub abdusalaam The word time was _defined_ not created. You're not really suggesting that making matter come into existence from a state of nothingness is equivalent to assigning meaning to a sound combination or a drawn shape, are you? When you use a word like _creation_ so broadly, the argument you make loses its point. Creation is either a miraculous event, or a mundane one. It can't be both at once, and if it is as mundane as defining a word, there is no basis for any religious assertion.
@omarabdolhamid9 жыл бұрын
+Josh Strachan Atheists "presuppose" that the universe is everything even when there is an evidence that there is an absolute beginning of space, matter, energy and time. The atheists are then the ones who are making the assumption (despite the contrary evidence to that) that the universe is eternal, either they rename it with other fancy jargon, like the multiverse, string theory, the megaverse etc. In short, atheists has no problem with believing in "something" eternal which is timeless, has no beginning and omnipresent, this "something" is the multiverse, Higgs boson, and so on. They accept to believe that the universe has some of the attributes of a god, while refusing to believe in God, claiming that is unscientific, isn't that ironic enough? thanks

I'd like hamza to answer the following 1) who has created the hundreds of other religions that have existed and why? 2) what scientific miracles have been identified in the quran prior to science proving them i.e which ones have not been identified in hindsight and based on interpretation. 3) does Islam being the fastest growing religion mean that numbers of people believing in religion are increasing or merely that it is growing faster than it's competitors?

+Peter G Since the beginning of mankind, God sent different messengers to different nations to guide them to the straight path. The basics message of every messenger was same that we should worship only One God. However, the message was only timebound and was for the specific nation and it was not for the whole of humanity. Therefore as the time passed the people of the specific nation changed the basic message according to their whims and desires. The scripture which was sent by God and the path which the Prophet of that time told the people was corrupted. Thats how different religions are formed. Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last and final messenger of God who is sent for the whole of humanity, to all nations till the Day of Judgment. Therefore Quran must not be changed and that is why God says in the Quran the He will guard it from corruption and if you check the original Quran which is present at the Turkey museum, today's Quran is same word to word. The Quran does not deny the previous revelations it rather confirms it that those previous revelations were sent by God but they are not present in their original form.Take for example Cristianity, Jesus ( peace be upon him ) according to us was a prophet of God he was sent by God. He never told people to worship him, rather he told people to worship God. Even today's Bible ( which is corrupted form of original scripture sent by God) confirms that Jesus never told people to worship him and he said that There is only One God. It is the people who is following the corrupted religion and saying that Jesus was God, Jesus never told them that i am God. So that's your answer how other religions are existing.
