I think my favorite part of the joke at 8:10 is that I think I've seen one reactor realize that this is Smiling Friends version of Homer Simpson. He has the shape. He has the facial hair. He even says the trademark "mmm". Also, I've heard the singer for Pim's daydream, Jason Paige, is the same singer of the OG Pokemon intro. He also sang a cover of "Silent Night" in an episode of Chris O'Neil and Zach's other animated show "Hellbenders".

The fact that most of Smormu’s votes were counted via electoral votes and only slightly won the popular vote makes the ending of this episode even funnier. Also and I know everyone has already pointed it out so it would be almost pointless to mention, but the “in memory of” gag after the credits showing the full-on corpse of Smormu instead of a stock photo of him….just wow. This show is ruthless (Also also, Chills is not only credited as Chills but he also got top billing. Just wanted to point that out)
