See this is what has kept me watching all these years. Smiling Friends is always a barrel of existential laughs but feels like its on classic rock radio now with how old it is relatively speaking. The simple joy you strolled out the animation is proof enough it still smacks of entertainment value.

The blend of different animation styles within the show was so chaotic, but I think it worked pretty well. Plus, with how short the runtime of each episode was, certain themes didn't seem to overstay their welcome. Fun show and I look forward to more! Also, 1:00 Foamy be with you! :D

I just don’t get it, so many videos are praising this show and I jumped into buying it so I could see it for myself. I’ve now seen both seasons with the episodes currently out and I just don’t see the positivity people keep saying it has. It still has morbid death and nonsensical randomness and it just doesn’t click for me. So much of the art style is so ugly and dark mixed with all the death and I just don’t vibe with this. I think I found one episode I genuinely liked, spamland I think it was but the rest just feels, pointless. Maybe I just don’t spend as much time online as I used to to understand or care for the majority of what these creators made before this so it’s just not for me. I’d rather watch Bluey where it feels fun, positive, clever and leaves you genuinely feeling good afterwards. This show just leaves me feeling confused, empty and sad.

Gumball predates Smiling Friends, so nope. I'm not sure either inspired the other; they feel like opposite poles to me, and wackiness is a longstanding hallmark of Smiling Friends Newgroundsish indie roots - which is likely where the style swap idea came from.
