Not suprised to hear this. Personally I like the idea of limited skins, but it's more profitable for Hirez to have unlimited so they've been committed to them since introducing them. I see no reason they would have changed outlook for smite 2, realistically smite 2 will probably never see a limited skin.

Exclusivity definitely added some fun factor to owning certain skins in smite. Gonna miss the days of limited skins but I understand the reasoning of the new unlimited skin system. Hopefully they still keep frames exclusive since they never rehashed ones from the earlier seasons of smite.

@@Rendertk1 I don't like the idea of limited skins, I think it's cool concept but so unfair for new players... examples : I played Smite for the first time 4 years ago and LOVE it !! I played it hours and hours, I purchased a lot of skins on my mains, BUT I was so frustrated and sad when I saw than some of my mains skins can never be unlocked anymore because it was limited / limited event... this is so unfair for players than just weren't on the game or just know about the game too late... that was the best skins also so more frustrating... I prefer limited event skins than came back every years like Hollidays / Halloween / etc... even if I need to wait 1 years, I am okay with it because I know the skin isn't lost forever !!!

@@vari_ares I can understand how limited skins can be frustrating to new players, however there is no other way to attach a cosmetic to a specific event. If it's purchaseable without interacting with the event after the fact it just becomes another skin at that point. For example the reason I prefer void wyrm to dragon's rage kukulkan for example is that while both are limited I had to do something to earn void wyrm, whereas dragon's rage was purchaseable for years after and didn't require any interaction with the event. It used to be that some cosmetics in multiplayer games like halo, etc could be earned by achievements and meant something if you owned them, and I think that this improves the cosmetic. At least to some extent limited skins were like that (because they mean you had to have been playing at that time) and that's the aspect that I found appealling. My absolute preference would be that at least some skins existed that could be earned at any time but required you to achieve something to unlock, but Hirez would be making a loss on that and so would never consider it. If such achievement-oriented skins existed, I probably wouldn't care as much for limited because that desire for meaningful skins would have been scratched elsewhere.

I’m still debating if the upgrade to the Ultimate Edition is worth it from Standard Founder’s Edition. If I can get the Zeus and Neith skin later than it would be cost efficient to just wait and get those skins later. I don’t need to have passes for characters that I don’t play.

I’m really glad the door for bringing old skin concepts forward to Smite 2 is open. I don’t generally gaf what happens to cosmetics, but there are some iconic designs that would just be a shame to leave behind-Swagni, Metal Carnage, Afro-dite, Dark Whisperer, Madame Darkness, or Jandroid, to name a few.

ngl but models, walk, aa and overall animations still look goofy and outdated for 2024/UE5 standards. Look at the "new" Anhur for example, his model looks like a 2008 in-game model with unproportioned body parts and his aa and skill animations are still so bad and goofy bro i can't 😭
