Playing in Arena with an Ares is fun with my group. Our composition usually consists of Scylla, Thanatos, Zues, and Thor, Who's ults all work very well with Ares' ult.

This kit is amazing for prometheus. His 1- a refrence to prometheus being chained. 2- prometheus is a helper "god" (titan). 3- theft of fire. And his ult like his 1. That's a perfect fit for prometheus! Make a new warrior ares instead!

Ares is also the God of Masculinity, loyalty and defense of the Polis along with his Sister Athena who likewise was also a Goddess of War who call on the Furies. Even One of her titles is "Terrible" The Gods have powers over more than one Sphere of life and death. Though this is game and of course they need to streamline things.

The only big threat I'd say if the enemy goes bead to counter your ultimate, to counter that I get CD boots and plate of valor, decent amount of CD and mana. Ares ALWAYS needs his abilities up no matter what, buying Cooldown isn't such a bad idea

Really, a guardian? From a lore prespective, it just doesn't make sense! Ares is the god of war without thinking, unlike athena who relies on defense and wisdom. He charges at his enemies, dealing destructive damage and doesn't waste time defending himself (eventually he loses. ALL THE TIME). He should be a warrior. Also his appearance is weird. Get him in a greek armor! What is this weird armor? Make a remake please! edit: this kit is good though. make it Prometheus's kit and make a new Ares

Yes, but in the myths, Ares almost always dealt a huge blow to the enemy before he went down. But then there is Mars, who is basically a much more honourable, smarter, better version of Ares. Mars was on the same level as Athena when it comes to being loved by the people. Funny thing is that Mars was the called the most "Roman" of the gods yet, even as a god of war, was better morally than most of the Romans, as Mars is also the god of military might used for a just cause. The Romans did not use their military might for a just cause. Why am I giving you a history lesson, I do not know. Why am I talking like these gods actually existed, I also do not know.

Usually, but they are likely giving an earlier preview due to it being 4 weeks since the last god release. There was a skill preview yesterday, there will be a joust match today and an internal 5 vs 5 tomorrow. I guess he comes out the day after the 5 vs 5 (thursday).

1:41 So as of 10.5 or so, the current passive is 30 power instead, but I wanted to run off an idea for Area for anyone who comes across this… *Blessed Presence* _Each completed aura item that Ares owns grants him 30 additional Magical Power. Ares and all Allies within 35 units him regenerate 5% of their maximum health and mana over the next 10 seconds if they kill an enemy god. If Ares or an allied god within 35 units of Ares dies, they drop a 20 unit field of hastening energy that increases allied players movement speed by 20% and physical/magical protections by 10% for 10 seconds. Lasts 10 seconds._

could grab voidblade and witchstone and possibly a soul eater to give his right click some extra oomf, all the while getting spell power. really strong passive. seems that they really want tanks to do both physical and magic damage, such as ymir's frostbite and sobeks nile armor, and now are's who doesnt loose out on spell power when grabbing the aformentioned items.

The Romans loved Ares, they just called him Mars. Over the years Roman and Greek mythology was somewhat merged and the lines blurred. Many of the myth of Ares were re-interpreted by Roman writers under the name Mars, and Greek writers re-wrote myths of Mars under the name Ares. While it is possible to distinguish the two to some extent. The Greeks and the Romans often saw Ares and Mars as one in the same.

Although it would be cool to have ares as a physical warrior, I'm in love with his kit too much to let it go. They can't have 3 damaging slows, a percentage based knockback immune damaging ability, with an aoe cluster fuck of a stun, on a bruiser. It would be too op.

I still remember Ares in Hercules TV series. He was like immortal but can only live in somewhere with war. If there is no war, he will disappear. And will appear again If war start. And the bigger the war is the stronger he become. So If Hirez use that Ares, his passive would be like: Ares gain 10 magical power, Physic and magic protection for each god in combat within 50 Radius. So pretty much the bigger the team fight, the stronger he become. With 10 gods = 100 Magic power, 100 Magic protection and 100 physic protection.

+Hung Nguyen Ares's is pretty powerful because of his 1 if u hit all shackles and burn on mage u are guaranteed a kill and his ultimate is the best set up for any multi kill.. unless beads or cc immunity.

Zuleika Sanchez Remember with the passive I talked about, he only +100 power in a team fight have 10 people. The passive he have right now make him +90 all the times if he build 3 aura items. So +100 power is not the problem. If you want to nerf something then focus on the protection part. The only problem on power part is we need some way to balance his early game.
