I've been watching the recent god reveals and/or trailers, and I have to say it reignites my will to play Smite again! Unfortunately, I don't have enough currency to get *all* the new ones, but I'll be sure to keep on the lookout for the chance to get some of them- Maui, Charon, Bake-Kujira, and Atlas are my top priorities, for now. As far as I remember, the last "new" god I've seen released was... Morgan le Fay.

@@StefanLopuszanski Well it was inevitable that it would happen because in Maui's mythology there are many stories of him using his magic hook to catch and attract various things like the sun or the islands.

@@No-soy-un-bizcocho : I mean maybe. But there are many different ways to do hooks. In LoL there is Thresh, Pyke, Blitzcrank, Nautilus, and more if you consider any short range pull a "hook." They could have approached this in a huge number of ways. But it is VERY Thresh-like with the wind up hook that slowly pulls and an ally escape tool. Not that it is bad ... Thresh works very well and is one of the most popular Champions in LoL.

I like that they are adding some gods from the other pantheons rather than those from the more common ones, namely Roman, Greek, Egyptian, and Norse. I would like to see them add some more Voodoo and Slavic deities. However, there is one Egyptian deity that I hope gets added and that is Hathor. Considering she, Aphrodite, Freya, and Ishtar have somewhat overlapping areas of dominion, there could be a kind of four-way rivalry between them over who is the "true" goddess of beauty and love.

Maui's gameplay just seems like pure fun tbh -- the only thing I'm missing is his transformations. In fact, this inspires me to homebrew the Manaikalani for D&D. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MANAIAKALANI - The Chief's Fishline Weapon (Hook & Line), Legendary (Requires Attunement) Type: Simple Melee. Damage: 1d8+3 Bludgeoning or Piercing. Properties: Special, Finesse, Reach (30 ft), Thrown (30/120). Special: If the Manaiakalani is gripped with its hook pointing backwards, it does Bludgeoning damage and gains the Versatile (2d8+3) property. Only usable when 5 feet from your target. If the Manaiakalani is gripped with its hook pointing forwards, it does Piercing damage and the target becomes Grappled on hit. Once you've grappled a target, you may roll an Athletics check (DC 15), on success the grappled target can be pulled 5 x your Strength ability modifier feet closer to you. Pull up the Land: Throw the Manaiakalani into a lake or sea and roll an Athletics check (DC 15). On a success, a landmass is pulled up from the body of water. The landmass covers 500 x your Strength modifier square feet of surface and lasts for 24 hours after which it sinks back into the water. If the Manaiakalani is left hooked into the landmass for 24 hours, the landmass becomes permanent. Mahuika's Fire: Throw the Manaiakalani into the ground and roll an Arcana check (DC 15). On a success, an eruption of fire and lava is pulled up from the underground. Quit playing smite long ago but had 100 god's at mastery X , spent probably 2000$ on cosmetics and had over 3000 hours played. It got frustrating that most of my teammates seemed to feed or I had to hard carry solo every match to the point I just quit but the smite team has done such a good job over the years with art and gameplay abilities.
