Thats because in Smite all they need to do is google "Gods" and copy and paste the lore. All they make up is some animations and the skill set. In League they make up most champs (I say most because some look inspired) and make up everything about them.

I'm still waiting for a Norse Guardian (Odin fits the role well so far, but he's still a warrior), Mars, the Roman God of War, hopefully he can have authentic Roman armour and have a javelin toss as one of his abilities, maybe a shield bash too? I'd like to see a Chinese hunter with a repeating crossbow (yes, that was a thing in Ancient China, search the Zhuge Crossbow as designed by the great Zhuge Liang, chancellor of Shu Han in the three kingdoms of China, same time Guan Yu lived as well. They were in the same army in fact.) I'd also like to see Baldr as well. Also, a Japanese pantheon would be nice too. I'm asking a lot, but that's what I wish to see in the months to come.

I don't think they're going ancient Roman for their gods since they already have ancient Greece mythos in play. The ancient Roman sect is pretty much a rename for all the Greek parthenon. (This is just something I've learned in a high school elective course, may not be accurate.) Anyways, I agree with a Japanese god sect. Would that be from their Shinto belief?

Honestly disappointed by this goddess. Smite has a lack of guardians, and Serqet (or Serket) is a healer goddess. As her lore shows, she protects canopic jars. She wasn't seen as a killer, poisoner or striker nearly as much as she was a healer. She healed poisons and venoms, granted life and protected the dead. The part of her that did poison the unworthy was still a part of her, but Hi-Rez has only focused on that part of her. As a mythology geek, I'm overall unimpressed by a god who followed stereotypes and expectations of a poison-related character, without considering the actual mythological lore.

They've done the same thing with several other gods, Apollo is a good example. Hi rez can choose to show any side of a god they wish, and let's be honest not all that many people full heartedly enjoy playing the support role.

Matt Thomas Interesting that the example you gave was Apollo, who I thought was pretty on-key. Offensive hunter god, check. Archer, check. Music, check. Sun chariot, check. I've found other comments saying that more guardians are needed, and I think that Serqet would have been perfect. A shame that they made her really overly stereotypical of a poison assassin. There have recently been more and more gods that spit in mythology's face. Scylla is a prime example, as it literally has barely anything that links it to the character. Hades is another god that I feel Hi-Rez really got the wrong end of the stick of.

The EXP, 50% more, which means someone will take less time to get to lvl 30, why is that bad? How does it affect the gameplay, only in League really, but most people dont play legue, its like the 3% of players do league. Worshipers, 25% woopty do, i get 9 worshipers instead of 7, so OP, look at me!

Thank you. I've been looking through these smite god reveals and comments looking to find something unique. And while there are some Gods that have a cool ability or concept and actually surprise me, but for the most part I just get so disappointed. There's so much potential to create interesting Gods, with unique skillsets, but every God has this cookie cutter model. And also they have to fit these fixed "roles", which is boring. At least in some other Moba/Arts styled games, you could have a hero that could be played as a support in one game or as a carry in another, there's more dynamic gameplay with that kind of style. Maybe this is possible in Smite, but this is what kind of keeps me from getting into this game, it just feels boring and full of (overused) gimmicks

Goddess of venom? She is known as the scorpion goddess, but I guess it's close enough. Looks fun to play. Was hoping for an attack were she sends a large swarm of scorpions at her enemies though. Well well.

her passive confuses me. if she had all 3 of her poisons ( 1 2 and 4) would her passive CONSUME her poisons, meaning her ult would be consumed and not finish doing its damage? would that mean that its always best to use last breath as a finisher since your going to consume it any way?

Yesterday I bought her. In my opinion she's a very good assasin. Everyone can learn her abillities usage easily for an average gamer. I don't recommend her for beginner gamers,'cause she hasn't too much health,and she is demanded strategical skills and instics. I found her very useful and every game I get more kills than I can get with other god.

nah. The attacks you use when in madness have a set amount of damage not taking items into account.

2 escapes 1 CC and a poisonous ult, she is not really op but i will say she will be a lot of fun, almost all of her ability is all on the game and can be counter very easily with beads and/or aegis (i think this is where aegis pendant shine :D)

Hate to be critical, but isn't she the scorpion goddess? Could've made her a bit truer to her actual lore. I mean, she's fine now, but I properly would've given her an ultimate either like Bastet/Artemis, summoning one large or a few small scorpions, or like Fenrir/Scylla, turning into a giant scorpion, plus more scorpion related abilities. Oh, well. Can't have everything, I suppose.

Her ult is like a scorpion she literally gets on someone and stings them with her stinger also her 2 blades on her hands plus the tail doesn't that kinda remind you of how a scorpion looks 2 claw kinda things and a stinger
