Thank you. It helped a lot. I just got an electric Coronet super 12 from an estate sale for just $30. But it needs a new cartridge. Now I know how to change it

Hi, I just bout a C 400 and I am really sad because it costs me a lot to but Smith Corona Cronomatic Cartridge from UK to China. Do you know a way or product to replace the Smith&Corona Cartridge? Thank you very much.

Hello, sorry for the late reply. You can usually find cheap NOS or aftermarket cartridges on ebay or amazon for not too much $. Hope this helps!

I apologize for blocking the view of the typewriter a few times, I'll try a different setup in the next video.

How do I get the correction cartridge. I tried Ebay and only the regular cartridge came up and also on amazon. Thanks.

@@kathyannrose9733 Hi Kathyann, the only place that I have seen the Smith Corona Correction Cartridges has been on eBay. I don't think they manufacture them anymore, so most of them are old stock unfortunately. The correction ribbon I ordered stopped working after a few days unfortunately, so I am not sure if I want to buy another ribbon and try again. I will keep my eye out for them when on eBay/Amazon. I am starting to think White Out may be our best solution with these old Smith Corona's. Thanks for your comment!

I just bought one - it's a beautiful unit - but it hums - the carriage return is really VIOLENT - ( LOL) and The cartridge is stuck? any suggestions?
@exploreandthriftwithmario11 ай бұрын
Yes! The return on these is violent, but I prefer the auto return to manual. And alot of them just hum. I relaced the belts on one, but ended up damaging the case. There is a lever that you push underneath the cartridge to release it, have you tried that? Hope this helps!

@@exploreandthriftwithmario I got it off and put a new cartridge in. It’s nice! Since it all works fine, I’m going to leave the belt as it is. I’ll Just put some rubber conditioner on it. Thanks.

It looks like your power return button is gone that sucks.
@exploreandthriftwithmario4 жыл бұрын
I actually have the return button (it was with it when I bought it, but it wasn't attached). When cleaning the typewriter, a little plastic piece fell out. It was part of the return key. The piece just needs to be glued on to the return key to fix it, but I still haven't gotten around to it.

I've since fixed the return button with some Krazy Glue.
