Getting ready to buy a s&w x frame just cant decide in the 500 or the 460. Have you shot the 460? Do you still like the 500?

Unfortunately I have never fired the 460! And yes I still love the 500 but I don’t really have a practical purpose for it anymore

There is a up and a down on the compensator. The grooved or notched side goes in the 6 o’clock position.

I have the 4” barrel. And I’ve shot 700 grain and 600 grain rounds through it. Doesn’t feel too good. But the 500 grain. That’s love. For me anyway. It’s perfect in my opinion. 500grain in the 500. Hand in hand. Lol

I agree with ya! I had some even lower ones like 350 grain and they were so much better for the hand haha

@@RacksNRecoil idk if you know but the 700 grain was actually designed for the rifle. Because of how big it is it doesn’t have time to get a full rotation out the pistols. It doesn’t hurt when you shoot it out of the rifle. Look into big horn armory 500magnum. It’s a $3K+ lever action.

@@RacksNRecoil if you want the most from the handgun. 300 grain is the way to go though. Velocity is 2.075 Fts and muzzle energy is 2,868lbs.

Is semi jacketed bullets considered lead muzzle break?

I would consider it to be jacketed because the part that touches the rifling is jacketed. But from the info I gathered it doesn’t really matter too much which muzzle brake you use, one will just get a little more lead particles than the other
