The old revolvers are beautiful. I also believe they should come out of the darkness of the safe, be used for their intended purpose, at least occasionally, and bask in the light where others can marvel at their aesthetics, simplicity, and functionality. Thanks for the video.

Growing up a Landlord lived next to my apartment. He carried one of these snub nose revolvers when he went to collect the rent from his tenants, and would let me watch him clean it. Classic gun. Beautiful.

Thank you for the review. Another term to use is bucket list and a snub nose model 10 has always been on that list for me. I have a 10-7 skinny barrel model for defense of the homestead. Look forward to your next revolver video.

It looks like mine, but a bit "newer-looking." Regardless, the M10 is the best, and I'd much rather have the square-butt over the round. You've got the right snub! Wahi' Valleys

The screw head on the right side below the cylinder with all the marks around it is the yoke retention screw.........the previous owner was careless upon removing that screw. It is removed entirely, then the cylinder is swung out the whole way, then you can remove the yoke while holding the cylinder in place, so you do not scratch the finish. Then lift cylinder up and away. That makes cleaning and lubricating the cylinder / yoke so much easier. To put it back together just reverse the process. Use a dedicated gunsmith screwdriver that fits that screw perfectly and hold the index finger of your other hand up against the screwdriver shaft ( toward the bottom near the screw ) while you turn it to keep from slipping off. It's a shame those marks are on there......its totally preventable. You may already know this. Just my 2 cents. Nice snubby.

That gat is in great shape so get out and shoot it shoot it shoot it !!! My 10-5 has the 5 inch standard pencil barrel and I'm gonna get out to the range and shoot it indoors on paper and see how accurate it really is and mine is in that great shape also and mine has the diamond wood grips and is 1962 vintage I believe according to the S&W book !!!

@HillbillyMusings
@HillbillyMusings 5 ай бұрын
Hi Craig, the Model 10 is built on the K frame size, meaning slightly larger frame, grips, etc. Also the model 10 is a 6 round where the Model 36 is five round. The model 36 is built on the smaller, lighter J frame size. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!!

Personally I wouldn't feed it a steady diet of +P rounds, but I would think it could handle it but like Smith says, do it at your own risk :) Personally I prefer 158 grain lead round nose in my classic smiths. Thanks for watching!!
