I noticed that, too. KCD1 is my favorite game of all time, and I haven't watched anything but the trailers, and this, because I want to be surprised. I'm glad I watched this, though, because this looks AWESOME! I spent hours crafting potions in the first one, it was really fun and kind of relaxing to do (unless you had Mutt with you, and he'd howl all night long, haha, I finally sent him home every time i started an alchemy session after that). I'm going to spend so much time making weapons to sell. THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE PERFECT (for me).

A tip I used in KCD 1 was to use a torch while sharpening. This is because the torch light would highlights the edge so you can see the sharpening progress. With this new system, which I really like, I don't know useful light will be, but it might be worth trying.
@RichardSiegers
@RichardSiegers 15 күн бұрын
another tip for KCD 1 is use the cheapest weapon you got (butcher knife or carpentry axe) and make it blunt on the grindstone and then repair it with the repair kit then make it blunt again and repair it again because the weapons are very cheap it takes almost nothing from your repair kit so you will be level 20 in 10 minutes

This is pretty cool. its clear the people who made this actually have some knowledge of blacksmithing. One of the obvious signs that you have started to burn your steel is when it starts throwing sparks like that. Unless you are forge welding, then its a sign that your piece of hot enough that it has a sticky surface and will tack together. But fully capturing the process of shaping a sword would be near impossible without becoming tedious and complicated. This is far more than any other game has ever tried before.
@liamwalsh3925
@liamwalsh3925 15 күн бұрын
I was super impressed when I saw the sparks, devs have definitely put the extra effort in, but it's happened one too many times in my forge hahaha
@simonphoenix3789
@simonphoenix3789 15 күн бұрын
@@liamwalsh3925 yeah burning your piece is a pain in the neck and one of the reasons why I switched from coal to gas despite really liking the smell of the coal forge. It was pretty common for me to accidentally wind up burning a piece when I wasn't paying attention and wind up with a sparking mess of half molten metal.

@@liamwalsh3925 I mean, they kind of have to because otherwise it would end up being tedious and waste a lot of time. They did the same with equpping clothing and most importantly, armour. @chaitanyagupta6668 cyberpunk blatantly kept any review copies from showing gameplay ahead of its release, only released pc copies for testing and held back information in regard to how well it ran on the ps4 and xbox hardware ahead of the current gen we have now. Warhorse studios have proudly allowed many reviewers and game channels full access to the game, and have allowed them to showcase massive chunks of gameplay, and they pulled their release forward from its original window because of its level of polish and the fact warhorse know the game is ready for release. I'm all for being cautious, but I can tell you right now that kc2 and cyberpunk 2077 are two worlds apart when you look at the lead up to the initial release.

I’m so glad they are adding full on smithing to the game. That was one of my biggest things, as Henry was a smithy. One thing I also hope is that they do another Pribyslavitz type DLC and expand that. Hopefully by the third game it will be so expansive you could build your own in universe city. Let me make a place as legendary as Prague itself. Or maybe it’s not a DLC at all and affects the outcome of my gameplay and endgame

Considering you could walk 100 yards into the woods shoot 5 deer and ride back and make 1k-2k in 5min. This change will be a welcome one that will help the longevity of the game.

In the first game, there were multiple ways of obtaining items (buying, stealing, finding, winning through the tournament) so that you weren't locked into one specific method of playing. If I don't take to the blacksmithing, maybe I don't get the top-quality Sword of Beating Everyone, but I can get a decent version from Kuttenberg.

Crafting looks nice and fun. BUT it could get boring and tedious when you need to craft a lot.

they had automation perks for alchemy in kcd1 so they might have it in kcd2 for blacksmithing. who knows.

I don't think it's a necessity to craft anything, it's just an option Looting and buying your gear and repairs is still valid I'm sure

As a smith in real life this is the part that has me most exciting, that we actually gets to do the work and not just choose parts and it gets done instantly like in Bannerlord.

Wonder if you can quench it 2 times like that quest in inr where you hearaboit a smith making extremely durable weapons by double quenching

So do things wear down slower and do you get dirty slower than in the first game? In the first game it's like you walk 10 steps amd meed another bath lol

I'm feeling a little mixed about this because I feel like they could have gone a little bit further and incorporated a custom build to weapons. The choice of blade, hilt, guard, pommel, and engravings. I've been playing Bannerlord a lot, and I love their customisable blacksmithing where you can choose the length of the blade and what type of wood used for the grip, etc. It's the one and only thing I feel they could have made this a little better, other than that this looks great.

Blacksmiths didn't make armour, it would be cool if there was a polishing mini game or something for using the repair kits I agree

Get good horse -> Pack it with crafted swords -> Switch clothes -> Go to bath house for max charisma + (take herbs + perk that will increase your charisma if you have them)-> Sell them around the city. Yup this is going to be fun can't wait to start blacksmithing business.
