Bog bodies require specific conditions, which is why they are rare. In fact, we find bog bodies of animals sometimes too, which has lead to some cool scientific discoveries of extinct animals.

im pretty sure bog has little to no oxygen, which causes the preservation of the skin. i could be wrong tho
