Physically and visually verify that the chamber is empty. Good demonstration. I never knew how to take the bolt down this far. Thanx for the video.

Thanks and you're welcome. It is a bit of tricky bolt to take down all the way

Thanks for this. No one else seemed to go into breaking apart the extractor. My extractor spring snapped in half on me.

Your welcome! Hopefully you got that extractor springs back in there with out to much trouble. They can be tricky.

I have a bizarre issue. The standard bolt takedown tool does not fit my firing pin. It looks like the two recesses are there but the lugs on the tool can't reach them because on one side the firing pin has a big lump of metal, maybe 5mm tall, that the tool hits before the lugs can reach the recesses. One of the teeth can sort of engage with this lump of metal, but I need engagement on both sides because the screw is seized up and I can't put enough pressure on the tool to make the pin turn. I guess I'm going to have to make a major modification to my tool, but before I do that I'm wondering if I just missing something or is mine the only one like this?

I recently acquired a no. I Mk. III* and I knew it was in rough condition, but I wasn't expecting the bolt to be seized up. Do you have any tips to fix that?

Like you can't get the bolt to open in the reciever?
@owenhenderson31433 ай бұрын
@@HistoryinFirearms yes, it's stuck in a closed position, it doesn't rotate at all

@@owenhenderson3143 I would probably start with some standard penetrating oil and let that sit. Hopefully you know it is unloaded.
@owenhenderson31433 ай бұрын
@@HistoryinFirearms Luckily, I do know it's unloaded. Is there anywhere specific on the bolt that I should apply the oil?
@HistoryinFirearms3 ай бұрын
@@owenhenderson3143 The bolt has a long locking lug that would be along the right side with the bolt closed. There is a second smaller lug 90 degrees from that lug, towards the rear, that would be inside the receiver. I would focus on the bolt in the rear of the receiver and in the rear around the striker and cocking knob to try and get it down where the locking surfaces are. Are you able to move the cocking knob?

TF 4-04A? Surely it should have been TF 3-03A?

Haha, man, I should have put more thought into that! Missed opportunity! 😁

@@HistoryinFirearms never mind fella, keep the nomenclature as it is for the series and try to slip it in to another firearm/calibre series and see if anyone notices 😁
