Wow what a great finish on that furniture. Many Ishapores are oil and cosmoline soaked to the point of having to. Be replaced.

I just got home with my rifle. It needs some TLC and your video was exactly the tutorial I needed! Now I can get her ready for her club "coming out party". Well, I need to load a few rounds first. Thank you for your well done video.

I can see by my comment above-- I thanked you 4 hours ago. So 4 hours is how long it took me to clean this rifle! Not just this video but I watched most of your vids on cleaning and service of this weapon. I inherited this gun at no charge. I have never in my life seen a weapon this filthy. Years of oil and gun powder residue built up and *caked* on everything and in every groove and crevice. The bolt would cycle but just barely, it took a lot of effort Speaking of which this thing sure has a lot of grooves and crevices! I had to forgo disassembly of the bolt/firing pin as I do not have that tool-- yet. Anyway, after 4 hours of work and using up about half a cleaning kit worth of pads and oil ( ;) ) it now operates like butter! Smooth and silky! What a fine piece of machinery it has turned out to be. In some cases, things were so gooped up I was not sure I was doing it right. Seeing you do it before I pushed/pulled any harder was excellent and some things I may well never have figured out on my own. :) So thank you again for your videos!

You should sporterize that gun -- it would look really GREAT!!! Then add a picatinny rail and a red dot in place of that archaic rear sight. A foldable stock and suppressor would do wonders.

The trick to disassembling my 2A1 this video didn't help me with was sticking a piece of plastic in the magwell and beating the devil out of it until the action popped out.

Great video thanks! Mine is covered in black paint that’s worn and chipped. If yours had that paint how did you remove it?
@DevinK2 жыл бұрын
You can just use a not harsh paint remover

Would I be able to make this rifle look like no1 mkiii 303. and what components would I need? I'm looking at an Ishapore deactivated rifle at the moment. I am guessing brass butt plate, 303 , magazine and 303 nose cap.

Did you remove black paint from the metal parts? Or did this one not have it? Nice rifle! I should be receiving one soon that has a very dark stock and remains of the black protecting paint. Not sure how much I should try to clean it up, or to just leave it as is.
@DevinK4 жыл бұрын
That paint is there for a reason I have a 410 model with it it doesn’t hurt it it just adds more corrosion protection. This one never got the paint just got blued

Who's the big Dummy that stripped and blued it?
@DevinK3 жыл бұрын
Nobody it’s not been reblued but India put this Thick paint for moisture protection on their guns that were destined for long term use and storage.
