what an excellent video. i watched 2 other videos with this smoker and man am i convinced. Couple questions : why do you have that pan on the charcoal shoot? also i seen you latch both the top and bottom door even though you have that auto latch thingie, why do you use those? Lastly, is there any spots on the machine that gets hot? only asking as my kids love to be involved when cooking.

Hello thanks for watching. I put the foil pad on there to protect the charcoal chute gasket and lid just personal preference. The latches secure a tight seal on all doors the charcoal chute side gets hot to the touch might want to watch the kiddies

Hey Tom. Was wondering when you were gonna show off that nice smoker again. It really did a fantastic job. That was a smooth cook. Your place is so neat and manicured. The MM gravity pit is quite impressive. Nice video. Don't stay gone so long. LOL

Hey Tom, Here are the questions I had regarding the smoker. 1. Smoker looks a bit small. Can you do a large cook? Brisket, pork shoulder, and ribs. 2 full rack ribs per shelf?? 2. How often on a long cook are you adding wood? I noticed you went to whole pieces as opposed to chunks. Did the bigger pieces enhance the smoke flavor. 3. Charcoal, do you favor lump or briquettes? 4. Are u running bbq guru? The additional piece for the ball valve, did u order it through bbq guru? 5. Do u feel a need for a 5th rack? 6. Durability? I live in the Northeast. Do u cover yours or bring it inside? How is it built strong? 7. Does the amount of food affect charcoal use? In the vid you stated 10 hour cook only half bag. How big was the charcoal bag? 8. Is it easy to clean? 9. Will a rack hold a full standard foil hotel pan? 10. Did you notice a difference in the cooks with the water pan and without? 11. What other smokers did you research prior? What made this the smoker over the others? 12. Please provide any pros and cons. 13. Thank you for your time and your finished products look outstanding.

hello thank for watching 1. Yes you can do big cooks, I recently did a cook consisting of 4 racks of baby backs, 2 butts, and a brisket 2.I have never had to add more fuel during my cooks i have ran the smoker for 17 hours at 225 on one load of charcoal which is about 12lbs. The larger logs work better saves u having to keep loading wood 3.both work well in this smoker 4.yes running the guru, I bought it as a complete package with the G9 5. when i 1st got it i thought maybe but now i dont feel the need for it, maybe if u are going to use this for a business then yes u might need another rack 6.I keep mine in a storage shed outside, its built like a tank very well made 600lbs 7.i have not notice a difference in the amount of charcoal used when more food is in the smoker, in that cook i had a 18lb bag of charcoal 8.yes i find it easy to clean just hose it down on the inside with mild soap and water, it has a drain ball valve on bottom to drain water 9. yes it will 10. in my opinion no 11.i looked at a lot stunps, T&K just to name a couple, everything on this smoker is standard where as the other companies charged extra for everything 12. Great smoker you will not regret it if u purchase one

Thanks for the video. I’m thinking about getting a G9. Did you buy yours direct or from a local store? Shipping to Southern California is expensive

Nice Pit and set up you got there. Yes very efficient....still half briquettes left. I was hoping you would have shown how the splits smoldered/burned during this cook. Always wondered how that worked with the hot embers dropping down onto the chunks or splits. Is there a reason why you placed the brisket so low and close to the drip pan? First time I've ever seen anyone on YT use a plastic cook bag.....That was Cool! A very popular BBQ joint around here uses them with much success. 👍 Brisket looked great and you even got smoke ring under the fat cap........don't always see that. Nice! 👍

Hello thank you for watching, yeah the pit is really efficient I love it. I will make another video soon and make sure to show the logs smoking. No reason why I put on bottom rack honestly I didn’t even give it a thought until u mentioned it lol. Yeah I love using the oven bag I get great results every time. Thanks for the feed back talk to u soon

Tom, Great video especially when there aren’t many on the G9. Could you explain what you do with the left over charcoal after your cooks? I have a G9 on the way!
@lildapp763 жыл бұрын
Hello thanks for watching, When I am done with a cook i choke off the air flow and will re use any left over charcoal for the next cook. you won't be disappointed with this smoker its awesome!!
@athompson27793 жыл бұрын
@@lildapp76 I understand that, I was more so wondering if you pull the grate and take all the charcoal out then light it again outside the smoker and dump it in or do you just leave it in The smoker and light the charcoal through the grate?
@lildapp763 жыл бұрын
Alex I just leave the un burned charcoal in the chute and light from the bottom
@athompson27793 жыл бұрын
@@lildapp76 what do you use to light the charcoal from the bottom? I got mine yesterday, oiled it down and ran it about 3 hours at 250. I'm not sure if that was enough or not any advice on this would be helpful as well. Also my gaskets stuck to the smoker and pulled off when I opened the doors did this happen to you on your first light?
@lildapp763 жыл бұрын
hello, i usually use a propane torch, that should be enough time for seasoning. No my gaskets did not stick, did they come off completely ? if so I would call ur sales rep, their customer service is great
