Excessive fuel at startup makes a lot of sense. Glad to see and hear it wasn't worse off, bud.

Effects on sliding contact Burnishing is normally undesirable in mechanical components for a variety of reasons, sometimes simply because its effects are unpredictable. Even light burnishing will significantly alter the surface finish of a part. Initially the finish will be smoother, but with repetitive sliding action, grooves will develop on the surface along the sliding direction. The plastic deformation associated with burnishing will harden the surface and generate compressive residual stresses. Although these properties are usually advantageous, excessive burnishing leads to sub-surface cracks which cause spalling, a phenomenon where the upper layer of a surface flakes off of the bulk material.

@@onebads2kracing Glad to hear it. Set a new PB in the Z32 on the 17th. 1.11 60ft, 3.17 to the '330, 4.96@140.4mph. Finally broke through the dreaded 5.0's lol.

You burnished the cylinder wall, that's why it looks dark.
@onebads2kracing4 ай бұрын
Yup pretty sure this is from fuel wash, we are thinking on my start up tables and maybe idle/cruise. So got to revisit the tune and try to use as little fuel as possiable.

@@onebads2kracing Or too much powaaa! All that cylinder pressure forcing the rings into the cylinder walls. Power is easy, efficiency is hard.
@rolandotillit28674 ай бұрын
@@onebads2kracing It's one of the advantages of cylinder coatings like Millenium Technologies does. It's much harder than the material the sleeves are made of, so they can take more cylinder pressure without burnishing. Ring surface finish is important too, because if you have crappy ring surface finish, you're more likely to get micro-welds on the rings which will do wonders to your cylinder walls.

@@rolandotillit2867 yup it’s part of the game too is what it is. Hoping some fuel adjustments help.

I don't see why you think this would be a crank fuel issue if you were mid pull with good afr?
@onebads2kracing4 ай бұрын
Just adds wear and over time it will fail the rings eventually. Typically when high load is on it aka wot.
@Erin-ph1gw4 ай бұрын
@@onebads2kracing interesting theory but not very likely on its own. Your fuel tables would have to be way off that you couldn’t start or idle the car if it were a crank fuel issue. To even degrade the rings at wot over time? Cylinder wash is an effect of something else. This is probably a bad tune, I’m guessing it was street tuned? because your description doesnt seem as likely without seeing issues elsewhere in your setup.

Tune is good fueling is good egts plugs look great. That’s the weird part.
