Smokin' Joe's Pit BBQ

Күн бұрын

On this cook, I smoked up some Turkey on my Yoder YS640 pellet smoker. I cooked these turkey breast to 165° internal. The temperature on my Yoder was 275° and the total cook time was 3 hours on the small (6lbs) turkey breast and 3 hours 15 minutes on the larger (8lbs) turkey breast. The turkey was extremely juicy considering it wasn't brined. The rubs I used were Victory Lane BBQ Season Everything, Smokin Chicken rub and topped the breast off with Gold Dust at the end of the cook.

Great looking Birds Joe... I'm like you I love Turkey. I cook Turkey breast several times a year. You did the right, on my screen I could see them juices run when you made that cut and those rubs gave a great color. Hell of a job my friend...

Thanks Britt! I was debating on taking the skin off of one of the breast and I'm so glad I didn't. I think the skin is the reason why they were so juicy on the inside. Thanks for watching my friend.👍🏼

@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ Sorry at this time I do not have a smoker or grill. But I would be going towards a simple style pellet smoker. Recently I become interested in the Camp Chef Wood Wind, with the Sidekick. Maybe next year. The bbq would be just for and my son maybe a couple of other people once in a while, so I wouldn't need anything too special. 😎.

Well done Joe! Really good looking turkey breasts. I’ve used butter to baste & prepared a separate glaze but I’m gonna barrow your idea of adding honey to the butter this year. We don’t have a big market for rubs in NJ. Where can I get some of that Gold Dust? There are several Gold Dust products on the Internet but it didn’t look like the one you used.
