I just loss my spouse of 20 years about 3 weeks ago to Stave IV cancer. This song tells exactly how I am feeling right now. It hurts that she was sedated the last five days of her life, so I have no idea how much of what I tried to say registered with her. Hearing this made me break down crying again, because I miss her so much. RIP Julie. You're the best!! ❤❤❤

I want the world to know. This man is the most admirable and kind-hearted person I have ever run into. Literately. I was delivering flowers in a hotel in Nassau during the 80s. He and the security guys were coming from the opposite direction. The security pushed me aside I almost fell. Smokey. held them and said no don't push him it's ok bro. I said thank you sir that was nice of you. So I not only saw him but at that moment I got to experience his kindness and brotherly love for all. I want to Thank you Smokey again, if you see this comment. . Strange enough some years later he met my younger brother Delano Johnson and loved his talents. Next thing I saw in the newspaper. Smokey Robinson took him and his group to Motown. They did a gospel recording. I think it blossomed into winning an award with the group that was put together. I believe it was Gospel music. Have to check with him to know for sure if it was a grammy.

The cool part about this song was that it showed he still had it, and was beating the young up and coming talent at that time, even as he was nearing age 50! In 1987 When this song came out I was 16 years old and in high school. I was dating my then girlfriend who became my wife who became my ex wife. But those memories of that time will forever stay with me.

Thankfully music can take us back to the best memories. So sorry you're like too many of us whose vision of forever was changed, especially hard when one didn't want it to. Hoping life has become kind again for you.

"Just To See Her" Just to see her, just to touch her Just to hold her in my arms again one more time If I could feel her warm embrace see her smiling face Can't find anyone to take her place I've got to see her again I would do anything, I would go anywhere There's nothing I wouldn't do just to see her again I can't hide it, I can't fight it It's so hard to live without the love she gave to me Doesn't she know it, I tried hard not to show it Can't I make her realize that she really needs me again I would do anything, I would go anywhere There's nothing I wouldn't do just to see her again She brightened up my everyday made me feel so good in every way If I could have her back to stay, I've got to see her again

That bass, that intro, and then Smokey takes over with his smooth vocals. Excellent melody, a well written crossover song, that's why it was a such big hit, and won Smokey his first Grammy.

I go through severe constant back pain 24/7. When mi amor walks into the room, my soul comes alive. When I stroke her tenderly with my hands, her skin fills my fingers with love. When I play with her hair while spooning, my whole heart and soul are filled and my pain lessens. Such a glorious gift that God gave me and blessed me.

@William Smokey Robinson Wow such a lovely surprise!! I'm a Fil-Canadian DUAL Citizen based in Vittoria, Norfolk County Southern ON, Canada working as Certified Linguist/Interpreter remotely. I fondly recall my fav. JUST TO SEE HER one of your best songs during College days a few months prior to April 1987 graduation - when one of our neighbor's eldest son came to visit my family. He is a musical artist loves jazz and a comm'l model back then he dropped by had a snack and coffee while the radio played your sweet song. My Dad asked me to bring out some cups of coffee and when I was about to put it down on the table our eyes met I suddenly felt time stood still, My Dad teased us and hey, Aren't you going to put the coffee cup down? Or say something at all? I felt suddenly blushing flushed cheeks. This guy knew we were mesmerized for a moment days went on during his visit with sweet exchange of glances, perhaps a simple case of attraction but light and bubbly!😍🥰😃😃
