I just loss my spouse of 20 years about 3 weeks ago to Stave IV cancer. This song tells exactly how I am feeling right now. It hurts that she was sedated the last five days of her life, so I have no idea how much of what I tried to say registered with her. I want the world to know. This man is the most admirable and kind-hearted person I have ever run into. Literately. I was delivering flowers in a hotel in Nassau during the 80s. He and the security guys were coming from the opposite direction. The security pushed me aside I almost fell. Smokey. held them and said no don't push him it's ok bro. I said thank you sir that was nice of you. So I not only saw him but at that moment I got to experience his kindness and brotherly love for all. I want to Thank you Smokey again, if you see this comment. . Strange enough some years later he met my younger brother Delano Johnson and loved his talents. Next thing I saw in the newspaper. Smokey Robinson took him and his group to Motown. They did a gospel recording. I think it blossomed into winning an award with the group that was put together. I believe it was Gospel music. Have to check with him to know for sure if it was a grammy.

1987? I didn't realize the song came out that late. You learn something new every day. This is my favorite Smokey Robinson song. Believe it or not, I didn't even know it was Smokey Robinson until about 2003 or so when my local oldies station ran a commercial promoting a Smokey concert and they played a clip of this in the commercial. Then I said, "waaaaaiiiit a minute!" And then I raced downstairs to find my sister's Smokey Robinson & the Miracles CD (which also included some of Smokey's solo stuff) and there it was.
