Motown music is some of the best music ever made. I highly recommend The Temptations.

Takes me back to being a teenager life was fun summer's were long and music was coming at me from all directions.the fantastic sound from Detroit of Motown over here in England glam rock and northern soul was running along side it.and the great heavy rock bands from both sides were now fully established.damn I've got to find a delorean that runs on plutonium and I'm back there forever.

Hey Special K....Mr. Robinson was the definition of quality and class. One of the purest voices to ever pick up a mic. As good as a singer, he is even better as a human being. Wish there was a way to force musicians to take a master class from him on how to conduct yourself in music and life. 💞U Much respect and love... Rock on and stay heavy!! 🤘😉🤘 T

@@KristinKali ...and I'm glad you did. I can't wait to see your reaction, but I'm sure you weren't disappointed. Back in the long ago I had the great pleasure of seeing Smokey Robinson and The Miracles 5 times, along with every major Motown act at least once, most 3 and 4 times. At that time The Temptations were my favorite because their act was so smooth, while Smokey's was far more physical and acrobatic. But out of all the male Motown acts they were a close second. It would be nice if you were to explore those early Motown acts, but honestly, I don't know how the rest of your viewers would respond to that.

This was their Only Legitimate Number One Pop Hit from 1970. It was Co Written by Stevie Wonder and in 1972 he left the Group after 18 Years. Six Struggling, 12 as a Group but since he was the "Star" of The Group, it created some tension. The Fellows tried to go on with their Replacement Billy Griffin with "Love Machine" which was their only Number One, they left Motown for Columbia but they didn't have success and then they disbanded in 1978.

Showtime just showed a recent Documentary on the whole Motown story..It was awesome, filled with great back stories, commentary by many who worked there over the years, including Stevie, Mary Wells, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, The Jackson's, and many others. Even Neil Young, who early in his career joined Rick James' Band, The Mynah Birds (Rick famed later for songs "Super Freak" and "Give it to me Baby".. MC Hammer later sampled Super freak and made it "U Can't Touch This" for a huge hit)...Smokey, and Gordy Berry lead with the stories.....Anyone who's interested in learning about that amazing Label/company I recommend seeing it...I'm 62, and I thought I knew it all about Motown..I learned a lot more...Great stuff!

You gotta do Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and The Four Tops...The doc. told how Gordy encouraged competition. Smokey would write this amazing stuff, then Norman Whitfield would answer back with something great..Then the Temptations, who were the prized jewel, among prized jewels would battle it out with the Four Tops, and it was funny because one of the Temptations said the Tops couldn't compete with them because they had the moves, along with the voices, but that Levi Stubbs (lead singer of the Tops) was no Joke!..It was competition, but they all supported one another...The Supremes, for quite a while were known, in the company, as the "No Hit Supremes" before they rattled off 5 number 1 hits in a 2 year period! Starting with, "Where did our love go."..followed by "Baby Love", "Come see about me", "Stop! In the name of love" and "Back in my arms again."..Holland-Dozier-Holland wrote the Supremes stuff...The place was a hit machine!..I know it was Pop stuff, but damn if it wasn't good Pop!
