Every time I see Anderson fall out dead and then pops back up...I think of James Brown falling to his knees (as if he's exhausted) and one of his band members throwing a cape on him and helping him off the stage only to have James throw off the cape and start performing again.

The background singers really make this song, the fact that they're doing a moving ninth chord through the chorus is really difficult to get intonation correct on and they do it flawlessly.
@lamario2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they melodicize perfectly. And everyone moves through the register perfectly in sync. Masterful signing and engineering.

This album is actually a storybook it tells continuing story with each song, from going skating meeting someone, and trying to convince them how far you are when their affection, to leave the door open for that special person, to the night after to leaving the door open trying to keep will fake smile on your face after everything went to hell, going to Vegas and try to get this 777 lucky number to pop up try to make you feel better, just getting things together and blasting off into utopian you know what I mean there's a story going on here

Grew up outside Detroit in the 60s early 70s so shades of my childhood. Several other things to define (IMO only): “she belong to everybody” this chick is from the streets i.e. “give her back to the city. “ Trifling ass phrase, waking the streets without her shoes 😂😂😂. We need to bring back using the word “trifling…..” Also so grateful you appreciate the humor-you can’t believe how many reactors where it goes right over their heads.!!!!??? Everything about it is so intentional and well-placed. All the moves and the dancing, all the jokes, all the music, and also all the lighting.
