Unexpectedly great, decent enough, or practically blasphemous? :P (Btw, I was meaning to do a Random Clips episode, but accessing my computer has been difficult this past week. Since music-based videos like this can be edited right on my iPad, I decided to go with this.) Gun Pointed at the Head of the Universe is criminally underappreciated. The drums are just so badass sounding, especially when the snares do their little triplet thing. It's so dark yet energetic. But the whole time, there's that haunting, low reverb sound... lurking... It makes me think of some horrific lake creature gradually surfacing further and further. Only Marty would have composed something like this. It somehow makes me feel like both predator and prey at the same time.

The original name makes a lot more sense when you remember that the Halo Effect works off of Neural Physics. It is quite literally an attack that undoes reality, thus making each Halo ring and gun pointed at the fabric of reality or the head of the universe.

I learned word from some sources say its ok to use halo music as long as you do not monetize it and say you made it, I think there's much more to learn about this. I put a small portion of halo music in my Halo map, and no strike I was given, still I don't feel confident putting music in my vids still.

While I believe you’re technically correct on how Microsoft doesn’t mind people using Halo music, the content ID system can still be a mine field to deal with. Halo music has had plenty of hands in its creation over the years so you never know when one particular party/rights manager will decide to start autoclaiming stuff. Heck, just a few months ago, a rights management company that deals with the trilogy’s soundtracks went and autoclaimed a ton of CE music across a bunch of channels (including my own) only to drop said claims barely a couple months later.

Well, whether or not you decide to upload it should depend on a couple things (imo): 1. Do you know whether or not the developer/publisher actively cares about these being uploaded? If they don’t, then I’d say you’re generally fine. 2. Do you plan on monetizing the video? Like you said about Halo, I’d advise you not to, and if you decide not to, then standard claims are not that big of an issue as all that will happen is that the claimant will run an ad on your video (worse things can happen such as the video being blocked in particular countries or being taken down entirely, but that tends to be rare). Also a side note is that the ‘heavier’ the mixing between two tracks is, the less likely it is that the content ID will pick it up.

I’m actually putting Know My Legend into the updated version of my Ghosts of Reach medley (which will hopefully be out later this week). No current plans to revisit this mix, but I’m not ruling it out. :)
