Not till now with this recipe has it looked like the pot the lady had on the stove. Thank you so much. I'm planning an old-fashioned Christmas dinner, and these are going to be on the menu. I love watching how other people cook classic southern dishes. Prior to this video I never knew that people cooked green beans with bacon pieces. The difference is that we sauté the onions and garlic and such with bacon grease from what was left after cooking breakfast. The meat that we actually cooked inside the green beans was that same as we used for greens, which is smoked ham hocks/smoked pig tails. Or smoked turkey tails if you don’t eat pork. Everything else was spot on with the exception of creole seasoning. Also, I never knew frozen green beans was an option. That’s for the advice. My stomach is growling like a mug.
