Nice cook, I like a light sauce before the final minutes and sauce on the side. Love your videos and keep up the videos. Loved your past videos with the cook offs too. I take a magnetic nail rod and go over my grills after doing a wire brush cleaning to pickup the very rare piece of wire from the wire brush

First time I smoked ribs was this weekend. 3,2,1 used the butter on the second part of the cook but got to thinking. I watched several videos of you doing beef and using beef tallow. Being a southern family we have an old time coffee pot full of bacon grease wonder if that would work too. Going to try that next time unless you think it might not work.

Joe these baby back ribs look absolutely amazing brother! Quick question when you put them back on the smoker wrapped do they go meat side down at that point? Seems like I’ve seen people do it both ways but I was just curious what you like to do. Take care brother I’ll catch you on the next one!

Looked like meat side down based on the juice when he opened the wrap. Also helps keep the bones from cutting the foil on the rack.

I learned a lot in this video. Now let me say i do mine a little different but will add some of your tricks... I usually put my rub on on Thursday. let them soak till Saturday morning, but another coat of rub and then into the smoker.. And i dont wrap for the crutch. But that honey in the wrap sounds awesome... whats your opinion on foil verses butchers wrap?

Wow, you've been following me for a long time if you know that. I tried Hickory once before on an Oklahoma Joe smoker and something tells me it was the smoker, not the wood that gave the food a terrible flavor. These were really tasty. 👍

Hi Joe... We have been smoking babyback ribs for a few years. They are good, not quite "there" yet. I ordered some of the P I G rub thru your link. I have used the same method as you show here with different rubs. Just not "the flavor" we are looking for yet. thanks.

@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ Quik follow up Joe: We really like the P I G rub with SPG on baby back ribs. I also started to mix my mesquite pellets 1 to 1 with Apple pellets in the grill. We are real happy with the flavor now. Wife used the P I G rub on pork chops mixed with the Shake n Bake , then cooked in the microwave. They were great ! The SPG works well on eggs and bacon too ! Thanks again for P I G suggestion

I use maple syrup and brown sugar with butter before the Texas cheat. But everyone has their own way. In any case ribs are good as long as they fall off the bone.

Great video. Just be very careful with wire brushes, I’ve heard horror stories of pieces of wire embedding in food leftover from scraping grates with the wire. Sent people to the ER. I use food safe degreaser and citrus safe spray from Lowe’s and aluminum foil, much safer. Love the content!

I could eat a whole rack of those. Growing up in Central Texas we grilled/smoked meat every week, my Dad was very particular, if you served him anything with BBQ sauce on it he would not eat it, he assumed you burned the meat or somehow ruined the cook. I am not that bad, sometimes a little (very little) sauce is a good thing. I believe in this case you hit it right on the head
