I also used 3 layers of seasoning and a homemade glaze (honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic). I took one bite and I swear to God I heard an eagle scream. I threw the rib outside and slapped the nearest person to me. Thank you for sharing secrets of the trade. Don't think I'll be making ribs any other way. Accidentally, I came across a fantastic technique to make the best ribs I've ever eaten. I live in Houston but was in Mississippi cooking Q for the family and about 3/4's through it started pouring down rain and I had to pull all the meat off and afrte some hours of constant downpour, I covered everything and put it in the fridge. Next day I restarted my fire (Hichory and Pecan) and put everything back own to finish. Cooked as usual and wrapped with foil near end and took it off as it got done. Chicken and ribs in their time frame. Best damn Bar-B-Que ever!!! Family and friends went crazy with praise of best Q they had EVER eaten. Tested the technique a few more times on my next cooks, and lo and behold, the twice cook hands down ALWAYS come out with that magnificent taste. It is time consuming and bit more work, but you know the joy and satisfaction of the end product. I am not worthy of giving you an ounce of advice about Bar-B-Que whatsoever, but one day when you got the time, I urge you to give this a try. I call it my "Twice Q'd Que". I assume the meat pores closing down on that already infused meat and reopening with another infusion must be the trick. Whatever, it has never failed me yet and every time I can allocate the time, I double cook now. Even the chicken is more scrumptious and the ribs are just to die for. Just wanted to let you in on an accident that could possibly revolutionize the game. Sorry to bug you with this epilogue, have a good day and hope by chance you find this.

AMAZING RECIPE! I adapted things a little and they came out awesome. Here is how I made these ribs - I used St. Louis Style Ribs. I bought all Heath's seasonings and used them as directed. Seems like a lot, but it works! Instead of grilling them, I cooked the ribs in the oven at 275 on a baking pan. I home made a butter bath instead of buying the one he sells. I mixed butter, brown sugar, apple juice, onion powder and garlic powder. I improvised a bbq sauce instead of buying the ones he sells. I took a sweet bbq sauce and added apple cider vinegar and honey to taste. I will make them like this EVERY TIME NOW!! They were soooo yummy! These boys know what they're doing.

As a previous Qstoves user who recently switched to Asmoke, I can confidently say that my grilling game has completely transformed. The precision of temperature control that Asmoke offers is unparalleled. I can now set my desired temperature, and the grill takes care of the rest. It’s a game-changer, especially when it comes to grilling ribs - it's almost like having Pitmaster Heath Riles in my backyard! The variety of wood pellet flavors also adds an extra dimension to my barbecue dishes, making every meal a feast. Plus, the portability of the Asmoke Essential is fantastic for outings and tailgating. The freedom to grill anywhere, anytime, without worrying about the power source is liberating. I’m now able to make deliciously grilled food on all my outdoor adventures. It’s safe to say that I won’t be going back to Qstoves anytime soon. #Asmoke

Jhonathan Urena I bought the ribs too. After sampling, I was sweating from the spices in the jalapeño rub and surprisingly the sweet rub had a kick to it. This California boy can’t handle heat apparently. Were the smoked/cooked ribs spicy at all? I plan to smoke ribs on the 4th and don’t want want to ruin them lol...
@JhonathanUrena5 жыл бұрын
@@jeffluff1503 I eat very spicy food so I didn't find them at all spicy. However my family which did eat then as well do not like spicy food much and not one person commented on them being spicy. They were too busy eating them and asking for more 😅
@jeffluff15035 жыл бұрын
Jhonathan Urena Thank you for the response. Going to do a trial run today before the 4th lol... using the mustard base, jalapeño, pecan, sweet, and honey rubs, butter bath, and sweet and tangy sauces, two parts to one. We’ll see what happens!

I would kill to eat some of that tbh, now I’m hungry. Reminds me of my grandpa, he loved making big platters of delicious steak and ribs when I was a kid, when we had tons of family over at his place for dinner. He was my kind of guy, friendly and kind, and he made sure I was never hungry. Unfortunately nobody was ever able to make them quite like he did.

If you're just cooking for home, just pick a rub you really like and stick with that. Multiple rubs are for competitions and usually the flavor profile is lost on non-judges (wasted). :)

Still, I never thought about trimming the racks like Heath did in the beginning of the vid. That seasoning gave it an awesome color. I'm gonna try apple juice instead of the beer marinade now. Great vid boys!
