Smoky Mountains, Cades Cove and secret waterfalls

So relaxing to watch. I remember those days, even made the 13 miles on bicycles. Would love to have some of those streams and waterfalls on the back of my property.

I also have taken rocks from the streams just little ones. I carry one particular rock with me at all times. I don't know why but it's my favorite thing I have and for some reason it makes me feel safe and at peace. Can't wait to go in May. Been all over our country, every state, this by far is the best.

Cades Cove had over 300 families. My grandfather Rev. JC Tipton lived there.

I have been to Cades Cove many times over the years. I love the place, but I love everything about the area up there. I used to own a cabin two miles from Dollywood, and had planned on retireing there, but a divorce took care of that. The first trip my now wife and I took was to East Tennessee. I really need to get back up there one more time since time is catching up with me.

Nice drive thru cades cove. Got married in Pigeon Forge at a cabin rental 2006 from st.louid mo. Aunt and uncle lived in Morristown Tenn and you could see the Cumberland Gap from their back yard. It was very cool to see. My parents came on greyhound. My aunt suggested a trip thru cades cove and according to my mom and aunt both half sisters said we had past family members buiried around 1 of the little churches on the cades cove drive. I loved the drive in and thru Gatlinburg and thru cades cove. Although we did not see any bears we did see wild turkey and deer and foxes etc. We did stop at the gift shop in cades cove where i purchased a black bear claw necklace. I wore it all the time. I loved that necklace and need a return trip to hopefully see the black bears and secure a new black bear claw necklace. Nice to see this video My first time and only time i have been in Tennessee so far. M

The first year I went to Cades Cove was 1957. After spending a week at Smokemont and all of its rain - Cades Cove was a welcome adventure. My younger brother and I walked the loop road - 12 miles around with our dog on a leash. We spent two weeks there, driving down to Townsend for groceries every few days. Never got to see any turkeys and bears were not as plentiful as they had been at Smokemont. The weather was wonderful - no rain. My family went back every summer until I went in the Marines.

The trail is past the Tremont Institute on the Townsend side of the cove.....the road is almost 3 miles long and ends at the horse trail

Want to get a feel for the cove before it was parkified watch a movie call "A Walk in the Spring Rain". My delight and I were in the cove before that movie. We were hunting her ancestors' graves.

Went to cades cove on Dec 21. The mill was completely frozen with icicyles. What a beautiful sight. The streams behind the mill are a must to walk the trails and explore. Saw a few bear and many deer. Agreed go early so that traffic isn’t too backed up

I had a red wolf that had been radio collared cross the road in front of my car in Cades Cove in 1994. They are endangered, and few were left.

I just absolutely love the Smoky mountains it is a wonderful place to be. I would not want to live there cuz it just gets too cold. It does snow and it does ice over so I have no interest only in the summer, spring or fall.

What month were y’all there? I’m planning to take my Dad, who is almost 92, to Cades Cove this year and I would really LOVE for him to be able to see a bear. We will only be able to drive through of course. I’m researching the best times for that.

Several years ago, I was trout fishing in Laurel Creek just above the tunnel shown at the first of this video...A car pulled into that pullover right past the tunnel and a lady got out with her camera... She said "Excuse me, sir! Could you catch a fish so I can get a picture???" I laughed and said "Well, how big do you want the fish???" Before she could say anything, her husband got out and said "Get in the car!!! GET IN THE CAR!!!! Do you know how stupid that question was????"

Thanks for the comment. Yes, we did just move to Tennessee from Texas, the Tremont area is not talked about that much, we were told about it from a friend that used to live in Townsend. We are on a journey to explore Tennessee and the Smokies....hope you watch more videos...we have a lot coming

Because you don’t know the area doesn’t mean that the area isn’t well known and worn out by all this new traffic with all their new trash and vandalism and flower poaching. It’s so overwhelmed with traffic now that the wildflowers which used to grow along the sides of the road were killed by the half foot of dust and dirt that collected on them from cars…and car exhaust. Social media totally destroyed that area just like the rest of the park. It used to be peaceful and quiet and quite literally rarely used. That was just 10 years ago. KZbinrs thinking they are showing something new about the Smokies just because they don’t know the Smokies are another plague to East Tennessee. Mountainsides that used to be green and beautiful are now just mountainsides of houses and cabins. Every view has been taken away of the mountains unless you’re inside the park. You’re not going to become famous for repeating what’s already been done. But of course you, like so so so sooooo many before you move here thinking they’re going to make a buck off of the destroyed peace. I’ve watched my home die…my home for every second of almost 60 years. I’m from Townsend. I won’t be watching your videos…you’re part of the problem but I know you won’t see it because you don’t love East Tennessee…you’re just using it to get a little attention.
