Wow, that is my way of "roughing it" out at the camp site! I checked out Derek's site and I was very impressed with his work. Before I retired, I made my living for 40 years in illustration and design and spent 32 of those years as an art director. I was trully impressed by Derek's work. Stunning would be a good word to describe it. Normally I would be focused on the food, but being an artist myself, I was just blown away with the beauty of Derek's images. For once, I forgot about the food. I devoured the pictures instead. Awesome!

As you know we love to camp and camp cooking is one of our favorite meals, it always taste better at camp. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us, it was wonderful to see the great foods you prepared on tis trip and the bonus wildlife footage your son was able to capture was just as fun for me. I have been doing photography for most of my life, wildlife being what I cherish the most. I never was able to find a way to make it a career for me, so congrats to your son I wish him the best of luck and with his talent, he wont need much luck. PS, I have been lucky enough to have a few images published in our states wildlife magazine, they didnt pay but was fun to have a few published in an outdoor magazine. I am more proud of those that did not pay then some of the wedding and portrait gigs I have been blessed to have over the years. Thanks so much for sharing this with us, this has been a wonderful way to wake up this morning. Thanks again my friend and I hope you both have a blessed weeken. Dale

First thing I thought when I saw the camp site was Dogman. I hope you don't run into those. You are livin' large with that huge tent Russ. Very nice. I've slept in Derek's rig before and I was miserable. The wind blew right underneath me and kept me cold all night long up in Alaska. It would be perfect for the summer time in warm nights towards the south.
@SmokyRibsBBQ
@SmokyRibsBBQ 7 жыл бұрын
I'll have to Google Dogman lol. Yes very comfortable tent. I offered for Derek to sleep in it, but he loves that contraption he slept in lol! He used a really good mummy bag, and says he was toasty all night, but our temps don't get very severe at all. The low the next morning was 36 degrees, so there was a really good chill when we came out of our bags and tents, but down here, once the sun comes up, it starts warming up pretty fast.

Rus you do a great job of bringing "experiences" to your video. Fishing, crabbing, camping, car show...it's another element that keeps things fresh. I know that must have been a logistical nightmare but it's so worth it man. I think the Drip N Griddle Pan is going to be HUGE for Adrenaline once word gets out. It's so nice for the price. Save me some of those fish and grits.

Hey Justin, thanks for checking it out brother! I love mixing it up on my channel and yes trying to keep it fresh and entertaining as much as I can. Yes, it was quite a job and a huge checklist pulling this one off lol, but well worth the effort. Loading and unloading was the only hard part, the rest was really relaxing and I sure needed it. The Drip & Griddle worked perfectly, and having that lip around it makes all the difference in the world on what you can do with it. Your to late for the fish & grits lol ;)

Looks like a Great breakfast! Your son got some really nice shots as well, that owl was amazing. Also, I've got that same tent... the Wenzel Klondike. It's been a pretty good tent.

It was very relaxing Booger, and we are already planning our next camping trip. The frying saucer does ok, but it sure doesn't hold much at a time, but good for 2 people like on this trip. Thanks for watching Booger, I appreciate it!

The coffee pot works great! It will be going with me on all these little expeditions I have planned. Got to have coffee just as soon as my eyes open in the morning. Thanks for stopping by brother!
