Great tutorial! Bolt is running much smoother, no more zipper sounds. Don’t forget to reset the firing pin to disengage before trying to shove the bolt back in

That was a great video I tried everything but my bolt was still kind of rough if yours is still kind of rough give this a shot you know that little plate that holds or covers the trigger allen wrench take that off and then cycle your bolt I realize that that thing's what the bolt rubs on

Hello::: My Bolt was Trash. On that flat part there was a bur sticking up maybe far enough to cut a finger, but I saw it first. Ray Charles in Quality Control could have seen it. I took a 40 year old 5/16 half round file to it, I figured how could I hurt it. I went over all edges. When I open bolt and pull it back 1 inch it still wants to hang up. Precision for $500.00 my ass. Last month I got a 22/45 light, the trigger is crap. Well compared to my 22/45 Mark 3 or SS 1993 22/45. I also just got Ruger American green 6.5 Creemoor, So far it seems all right. I guess I'm not finished with bolt on RPR 22 Magnum. I got a 20 year old Dremel tool... He did a really nice job.

Your disassembling this wrong! You don’t need a brass punch or a hammer. The “spring tension” you talked about needs relieved by compressing the bolt, just like you showed. Then the pin will PUSH out. It is designed to be pushed out. If you are beating it out, you’re doing it wrong!

I'm curious if anyone has polished the bore on these rifles. I have never had a centerfire, rim fire, or air rifle that didn't respond well to it. I used a clean soft cloth patch on a tight fitting jag. Apply JB's borepaste, starting at the breech, using short back and forth strokes, gradually going deeper into the bore and back to the breech, working back and forth. Once the patch reached the muzzle, I would push it through and start with a new patch, again, starting with short strokes gradually getting longer until it reached the muzzle. After a couple of patches, I would clean the barrel thoroughly and shoot some groups. Case in point. I started shooting with a local club. They had weekly smallbore three position matches. I couldn't afford an Anschutz at that time and decided to try and improve my Ruger 1022. I put a heavy Butler Creek barrel on it and was really disgusted with its performance. The factory barrel actually shot better than it did. That weekend, my girlfriend spent the weekend with me and she put nearly a brick of ammo through the rifle. The next time I shot it, I was surprised it was shooting better. It wasn't going to hold the 0.356 dia. X-Ring on a 50 yard smallbore target, but it was shooting better. I didn't have anything to lose, so I took the barrel out and gave it a good polishing. The groups improved drastically. I did it again, and this time followed up with a patch covered in the white Mothers' aluminum polish. the bore was incredibly bright. and with the right ammo, it would put five shots inside or touching that 0.356 X-Ring. I shot that rifle for years in those club matches and in NRA sanctioned three position matches in three states. I never managed to shoot a 200 20X on a 50 yard target, but I shot several 200 19X targets. It would easily hold the 10 ring on the 100 yard targets if I watched the wind correctly. I have seen many videos on these RPR's, they show some real potential.

Or you can leave it all together and hit it with some 600 sandpaper and it comes out smooth as silk. Work smart not hard.

I know that I love my 3 RPRs. I have the 22lr, 6.5 Creedmoor, and the 338 Lapua Magnum and I love them all. I actually enjoy shooting my RPRs the most out of my bolt guns and I am definitely not a fan of Ruger center fire rifles till I had a friend tell me to check them out and I did and immediately wanted to get one. I picked up the 22 first and loved it so much that I wanted to pick up a short action and got the 6.5 and a buddy had the 308 and he let me run a few mags through the 308 and I can definitely say that it is a better shooting rifle than my old Remington 700 short action that is probably 25 years old. But I really like the 6.5 so much better than the 308s that I have. I then picked up the 338 Lapua when my friend who a gunshop called and said that he just took one on trade that he said that guy who traded it in got it spur of the moment impulse buy but didn't think about where he could shoot it in Southern Florida but the guy said that he shot 1 10rnd of 250grn and a box of 300grn and when I saw the rifle I would definitely believe it given that the bolt had none of the typical wear marks that you would see on any⁹í

Thanks for video Rick , I think I might polish up my CZ 452 Bolt up too , the bolt had some surface rust on it after I pulled it out the safe after 16 months , I put a good layer of G96 Triple clean gun oil on it but she still rusted up , I used a bit of emery paper on it to get rid of the rust but it really does needs a good polish . Did you use a stainless steel polishing compound ? Or does any metal polishing compound do the job ?

This video is ok but There is a lot more to it than just polishing the Bolt, polish the firing pin the grove test fit it and make sure it has absolutely no rub marks on the bolt. I lap mine, I found out the Barrel is ok, But I wanted excellent so I bought a Green Mountain 24 inch Bull barrel with threaded end. I installed it and now I shoot 1/2 inch beetles at 100 yrds I also use a 6x24x50mm Athlon scope 1000 yrd scope on my 22lr
