I liked Billy. But I think some of his success had to do with the fact the he sounded exactly like "JEFFERY OSBORNE" from" LTD" . Billy charted earlier I believe, but LTD, featuring Jeffrey Osborne, charted higher and more consistently, until Billy's "Caribbean Queen" hit the airwaves. Everyone I knew thought it was Jeffery Osborne singing "Caribbean Queen."

I watched (on tv) one of his live performances from a couple years ago, it was the 80s rewind festival. He was a trip, a little slower than he was here, about 60-70 pounds heavier with long grey dreadlocks, but he had a great energy, really seemed to enjoy performing and making the crowd happy.

I reallllllly hope you do "Loverboy" next. It's much more up-tempo than the two you've heard, and the video is KWAZY (like something out of Star Wars)! You could also do "Suddenly" (a tender ballad), "There'll be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry)" (another ballad), or "When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going". Billy Ocean is now 72 years old and he still owns the stage like very few others. No degradation to his voice. live he has the audience dancing within a couple of bars of his first song. I am lucky enough to live in the UK where he lives and still tours every year. Incredible Artist with an incredible backlog of music and the minute he walks on stage he just generates this aura of joy which envelopes his audience. I don't know if he tours the US but if he does make sure you go you will not be disappointed for sure. I also agree with previous comments, You have to do “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” You will love it and Hey, You gotta give the people what they want. :)

@@ymichele40 normally, yes. However, she just passed away a couple of days ago at 90 years old. Her first hit was in 1960. She is a legend, and has been an inspiration to all female country artists since. When it comes to legendary icons, I would hope that you don’t wait until “Female Friday” to honor her an pay your respects, as though it’s just another Friday. This special woman has been in the business for more than 60 years. This channel hasn’t even mentioned condolences in passing. I truly hope they don’t just play one song in her memory on top of that.

When I was still a Taxi Driver, I had a PA system. And when I'd pull up (for a "Sorority Girl" pickup) I'd put on that opening bit over the PA. God Bless Austin Texas! Man that was a fun town to drive a Taxi in, in the 90's & early 2000's! "Hey you! GET INTO MY CAR!" "Yes you! GET INTO MY CAR!" Then I'd pause it until just before they opened the door so the music could start just when they opened the door.

Billy Ocean is one of my absolute favourites! This song was very popular on the radio when I was getting married. I was on my way for a fitting and this song came on the radio. Great memories! He was also one of the best concerts on the 80s Cruise. He sounded so good, just like back in the day. I was so happy watching him I literally had tears in my eyes. For his next song, you should do When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going. This is such a fun song. And Amber, the sax is great in it!
