How is this possible? WOW! Mind blown. A,B,C... I Want You Back... Got to Be There... Rockin' Robin... Dancin' Machine... Enjoy Yourself... Shake Your Body... They grew up on stage, and Michael sounded amazing the entire time. How rare it THAT? Usually, a kid singer loses their magic during adolescence - or, they are less popular as an adult. And Michael was a tremendous dancer, even as a child, so please check out some live videos, too. PS When I was a teen, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men did a cover of this - SO good. Please check that one out, too!!!

This is one of the Jackson 5’s best songs, imho. Since you’re a young guy Jay (I’m 60), you may not be aware of just how huge of a star Michael Jackson was even as a very young boy. I was a young boy myself back then. Americans of all races just fell in love with that young kid named Michael Jackson who we just couldn’t believe was so good at leading this band. Michael was a superstar even before he was a teenager! And then as we all know, Michael went on to become a cultural icon about as big as The Beatles and Elvis, although The Beatles are the biggest music artist of all-time.

While I love the Beatles, I would argue that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is the biggest musical artist of all time. He wrote vast amounts of music that endures today and one of the most enduring melodies that nearly child know, as either Twinkle Little Stat, Bah Bah Blacksheep, or the Alphabet song. Eddie Van Halen thought that Mozart was so important to music that he named his son Wolfgang, so I know I am not alone in this belief.

Jay, your face while listening to this, especially when there harmonies came in, was the same feeling we felt as kids listening to The J5 as kids. I am 65, and I remember when they first came in the scene. It was magical. They caused such a frenzy. 😊 I think it is good to point out that when kids are raised in a musical family and have been singing together their entire lives, these things come so naturally to them. Lots of us were entertainment to our parents back then. 🙂 The J5 was everything to us in the Black community...especially the kids. They were superstars!😊

Imagine what I was like to be a couple of years younger than Michael growing up seeing him on Ed Sullivan with the Jackson 5, then seeing him on all sorts of specials, having the 45 record of this song here, seeing the Jacksons on Carol Burnett in 1974 with DANCIN MACHINE and then Michael Jackson in 1979 with ROCK WITH YOU and then his big breakout in 1983 THRILLER, BEAT IT, BILLIE JEAN. Just imagine, that's how I grew up, and then in my 20s being the same age as MICHAEL JORDAN with the BULLS and seeing him work his magic on the basketball court. Hi Jay, I'm an old woman now, but in my youth we had get togethers with bunches of school friends. We would all bring lp's or 45's to listen to. Told ya I was old! I remember bringing my Jackson 5 records and just getting picked on so badly for the music I liked. Yep, I got my feelings hurt pretty badly. I can't begin to tell you how happy it made me when "my" music absolutely blew everyone up. It was years later that Michael Jackson totally blew everyone out of the water, but still, when I would see people I went to school with that made fun of me and my music, I'm like, told ya they were really good didn't I? Every single person who made fun of the Jackson's were like, yeah you knew good music even when we didn't. Anyway, love this reaction! It's one of my favorite songs from my old days. Michael was great when he was young and steadily kept getting better as time went on. His death is such a huge loss for a world of people. Miss him so much!

I agree with the sentiment that this is the Jackson 5's best song. It was so emotional when Michael sang shoulders [plural] instead of shoulder [singular] as originally written that they left it in. On another note, Michael and Donnie Osmond became close friends because they were the only two boys/young men on the planet who had such a similar shared experience with overwhelming fame at a young age.

@@aussiepie4865 Why would you say something like that? If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. WE don't need to know how YOU feel. It's perfectly acceptable to keep it to yourself.

I've been here before Amber joined the channel and I plan on staying now she left. I enjoy your reactions so much! Offcourse we are used to you 2 together because it's been that way for so long. And you bounced off each other so well with the reactions you did. So it's understandable that you have to get used to doing this solo again and that you need time to adjust some things. Don't worry about. And glad you got back to Michael Jackson/Jackson 5! I've been a big fan of MJ since I was like 6 or 7. The album Dangerous was just out and my dad bought it. And I was just listening to it on repeat. Such a great album! Couple of suggestions for Michael Jackson/Jackson 5/The Jacksons songs: Never Can Say Gooodbye Ben I Wanna Be Where You Are The Love You Save Dancing Machine Blame It On The Boogie Shake Your Body(Down To The Ground) Can You Feel It Heartbreak Hotel Lovely One State Of Shock(ft. Mick Jagger) Don't Stop Till You Get Enough Rock With You Off The Wall

Thank you for your awesome reaction brother. I had nearly forgotten the angelic sounds that the early Jackson 5 produced. The words of the song are ones all of us need to hear from time to time. Being not for self when others are in need ... is the meaning of humanity.

There was nothing like the Jackson 5. They had the songs, the harmonies, Michael's pristine vocals, the stage performance, and the magic! We recently lost Tito Jackson (Guitar), and he is sorely missed. "I Want You Back" and "The Love You Save" are two of their other early hits. By 1975, their songwriters moved on to Disco and the group left Motown and renamed themselves "The Jacksons". "Dancing Machine" is from this next era.

Oh bless you Jay, the memories this brought me, I just can’t explain. I grew up listening to this music thanks to my sister who was a massive fan. I never got it as I was a Bowie, Bolan fan. This just evoked memories of her playing this. ❤😊 whatever you are going through, I think this song just said it all to you.

Jordan this is my fave, the original, of this song. Many artists have performed or recorded a version of it, but his voice was beautiful. Hang in there J. Blow off the negative comments. How ignorant are people to judge you when they don't even know the situation. Just keep doin' whatcha doin'. I adopted you several years ago: you're the grandson this blue-eyed Irish lady never had. 😊

Wow .. MJ & Jermaine ❣️ Great to hear this one, its been a while. I watched The Jackson 5 & The Osmonds grow up on TV. So sad what MJ went thru as he became an adult, completely altering his appearance. MJ has always performed well along with his bros. Was hoping this was a live but maybe u can watch the live to this one later. There's plenty u can react to here. Maybe try to find lives tho so u can see what it used to be like. Thnx J. So sorry what y'all r going thru. I know it must be hard to keep up with ur channels. Just wanna say thanks for that. None of it is easy but life isn't always easy. Praying ur new journey is kind to you & you'll find new blessings. Take good care J😊🙏🏼💪🏼

Man the Jackson 5/Jacksons discography is HUGE.. They made sooo many hits and even unnoticed ones .. It’s a rabbit hole of entertainment.. Even in the last years where MJ and youngest bro Randy co produced and wrote some of the work!!! Enjoy ya self!!

The Jackson 5, The Osmond Brothers, The Cowsills and The Partridge Family were huge when I was a kid. This song came out when I was 9. Give a listen to I Want You Back from their first album in 1969. Also check out Michael solo doing a cover of Rockin' Robin and the title song to the movie Ben, both in 1972. Wayne Osmond just passed away. He learned to play the saw for the song Yo-Yo that you reacted to. You already did Down By The Lazy River also from the Phase lll album, so I think it is time to hear My Drum. Enjoy!
