Smooth Voice Overs with Melodyne

Not sure how this got on my feed and only has 37 views, but I'm glad it did honestly. I don't even do voice overs, but if I ever do, I'll have it on my mind that I can actually make it more/less melodic or even harmonize it... Thank man!

Thanks for watching the video! It's great to sort of smooth overly excited voice overs I think. You can also do a version of this in Izotope RX! Great if you need to edit something to make it sound like the end of a sentence!

Normal people dont understand it. But they hear it subconsciously. Musicians and audiogeeks hear it and understand you. Interesting use of melodyne. Good work m8

Haha It is very subtle. Try listening to it again from the beginning and watch the notes, the bars. Then listen to the finished one with Melodyne and watch the notes.

It works, but it makes my heart sink. All we hear are pitch-corrected and quantised singers and musicians,; now, VO. I use this software but I kind of despise what it has brought about.

I understand what you mean. I do think the music industry uses it to much along side pitch correction plugins, but I am doing this in a subtle way just trying to smooth things out a bit in some areas. I do think no one will be able to "hear" this pitch correction at all when the final video comes out.

Sounds like you only made it worse. Now you have some machine ai-voice instead of the live intonations of the voice actor, who clearly knew his job.

@@mezzb He's just trying to start an online debate. haha He couldn't do A/B test out of the two from original to melodyne. Like I said in the video I made replying to this, I hired the voice over and he did a great job on it.
