Everyone sleeps on magar. I know it’s a kill on sight commander from a guy at my lgs that entombs massive spells and gets then going fast. Graveyard hate is so good verses it. Very cool unfinity card.

I don't get why Jason never cast Teysa. He would have had double triggers and probably would have been in a much better position to win

Hi Jason here. There's a few reasons that compounded on each other. Essentially there was never a good point to cast her as I was playing around things the entire game. Here's the more detailed answer: 1) I missed my land on turn 4. I needed that Pawn of Ulamog to keep pumping our spawns so I could keep up with my opponents. With Catharic Pyre being castable every turn, I opted for Luminous Broodmoth both to block it and protect the Pawn should it die once. 2) I missed my land again, saw a Key to the City, and was immediately in a "damned if you do damned if you don't situation". I need mana so either Braids or Pawn is doing to have to get me there. I played Braids expecting to draw a card off NerdGirl then lose her to removal. Turns out I drew 3 and wasn't punished that round. 3) NerdGirl foretold a card. I assumed it was Delayed Blast Fireball because it'sa solid boardwipe to have active with Magar. I spent literally the rest of the game playing around it. Tried to keep things from getting flying counters so they'd survive the wrath. I played out Blood Artist trying to bait out the onboard wrath + removal combo needed to clear it. Bartolome would get to 6 toughness if I needed to sacrifice my board. This was also the turn where I started holding up Path to Exile the entire game. I was holding it for Melek and the inevitable creature version of Delayed Blast Fireball. I had to use it on the Temporal Extortion but that wasn't the intended target. 4) I brought back the Reassembling Skeleton to play around the Deathrite Shaman. I had 4 mana left and was still trying to get NerdGirl to pull the trigger on Delayed Blast Fireball but needed to hold up Path for Melek and the creature DBF. Midnight Reaper was the better play there, especially as i had few death triggers to actually copy. 5) Ethan wrathed first. I wanted to keep my spawns but I needed to sac creatures to make it so Ethan couldn't cast Blasphemous Act again. 6) Post Aetherspouts I didn't have a sac outlet to take advantage of Blood Artist. I needed to be able to kill Ethan if he tried to wrath again. Plus I needed my sac outlet to survive so Yahenni + Ophiomancer it is. Ethan did attempt to wrath but with Ashling this time so he had to go. 7) My last turn of meaningful decisions was recovering from the wrath and holding up Path once again.

Imo it was a mistake to let Braids draw that many cards. But good game nontheless.

Exiling matts graveyard when Blood for the blood god is in GY, Nerdgirl has tutored, and has greaves is wild. Feels like a ‘content’ play

It was not a content play. Matt was actively utilizing his graveyard with Shifting Woodlands. Blood for the Blood Gods is a riskier card to play and not the worst for Jason if it happens, especially as it puts Matt low for dying to Cruel Celebrant. Matt getting back things with Six over and over is a risk that applies more pressure that Jason can't necessarily deal with. Jason was also holding onto that removal spell ever since the Delayed Blast Fireball was foretold since he'd need to remove one of those big spells that's unblockable due to Key to the City. Also, both Matt and Jason were trying to kill NerdGirl, so if NerdGirl is out, Jason wants to play against Matt when he doesn't have his graveyard. It was just balancing the risk reward of multiple turns when there's a single removal spell in hand.
