I already have a couple of pencil cases that work pretty good and i store most of my drawing stuff in them (pens in one pencils in the other) but this looked great esp how you had it laid out and chock full of all the main stuff so i found it on Amazon for a pretty good price (under 20 bucks + tax CAD seemed reasonable) and i just chucked in a bunch of the stuff i use most frequently while rewatching your video... i love it. Its so much less cumbersome than my bigger case since right now i have to tow my at stuff around the house with me (oh no poor me). It fits in my little mitt no problem. Great recommendation. I doubted i could find the product 6 years later!

I am happy to say that I have followed your lead and have purchased this case and several of the erasers and drawing supplies. I drawing skills have improved. I use the grid method a lot. I was wondering if you would paint a simple drawing with a few trees with fall colors and watercolor washes. I have looked at many videos and I haven't found anyone that has combined the detail that you use and fall colors. I have hesitated to ask but you seen to be the only one that is in the vicinity of what I see in my mind. I looked through all your videos and have not found one with fall colors. I may be missing something. I thank you in advance for your input. Eddie.

Funny, you're the first person to mention the gritty Ticonderogas. I bought a gross of them online a year ago because our American cousins seem to think they were good and I was fed up with the crappy eco friendly pencils we seem to get over here, made of rock hard wood near impossible your sharpen ...but they were practically unusable - lovely easy to sharpen cedar but the graphite was full of sand like particles that would actually scratch the paper until you managed to dislodge it. Never seen anything like it. Had a look online to see if anyone else noticed problems with them but found nothing. I suspect it was probable a bad batch that they were flooding ebay with, to get rid of.
@smoothie77drawingpainting7 жыл бұрын
I thought the same... maybe a bad batch, I bought another box from a different batch, but no, still very scratchy, if they could sort that out they would have an excellent product at a great price. i have heard the vintage ones are superb.

Does Derwin make mechanical pencils?
@Mallchad4 жыл бұрын
Hey, I recently got into drawing again, it's been a while since I've really tried seriously and I'm kind of enjoying it this time. As per your recommendations I tried a mechanical pencil - I always hated them, the feeling of the body was off and the lead was prone to breaking. But I tried the Staedtler 0.5mm Mechanical Pencil Silver Series (925 25-05) and I'm really liking it, although I still love my wooden pencils. I have found it hard to get really deep blacks when finishing off a drawing with typical lead (2D or HB), and the 6B-8B pencils lose their point really quickly which makes it difficult to get hard thin lines. I couldn't find anything much higher than a 4B in terms of mechanical pencil leads and was wondering if you had any recommendations, tips, or input in general? I've always been adverse to charcoal (I've never enjoyed much other art mediums other than a plain ol' graphite and digital art), but maybe I'll try to be a bit more open minded, since I previously was against mechanical pencils.
