use some 2k can clear coat from a body supply store. Ive used it for trim work and it lays perfect. its the exact same stuff they use in a body shop. I spray clear from my gun too but something small i use a can

This is all so sick! Love the painted windshield cowl! Was the WS cowl smoothing and painting the same process as these mirror bodies? Same paper grits and high-build primer, etc.? I’m definitely doing this all to my 2022, but I think I’ll shoot everything with PPG/DuPont if the price is right. I just hope the damn paint doesn’t chip when they extend out/fold up… That antenna for looks or does it actually get good reception? Craven Speed seems to have the best one out there for those of us that are lame and still tune into local stations from time to time. 😂

How much does one spray max can cover? Am going to do the side mirrors but not sure if it’s wasting a whole can. Reason I ask is because I will be doing the rear bumper and door handles in the next few weeks. Not sure if one can is a waste to use it now when it might have enough juice for a few other items

The ones I have don’t cover as much as I’d like honestly. I can’t remember if it was 4 or 5 cans I used on these mirrors.

This is why if you have the time and money buy another set of mirrors, take them apart, properly paint them properly assemble them, and the probability of you seeing black as low to none. In my situation I just bought an F150 that has the big square towing mirrors that I don’t necessarily love. I got a set of the Ford style towing mirrors with the cut offs on the edges and I’m just going to take those apart paint match them, and then just do installation as one process, if you don’t have an extra 300 bucks, maybe you should be modifying something as simple as your mirrors…that’s for anyone saying anything about modifications. if you don’t have the money to do it twice or even three times depending on what exactly you’re trying to change and you probably shouldn’t be changing it.

Black doesn’t bother me and when prepped correctly they can hold up just fine. These still look like the day I done them and it’s been years. No chipping around the edges like everyone claims they’ll do. Do it right and they’ll be fine. The black doesn’t bother me cause they’re never folded in really. And if it does oh we’ll see some black on the mirror until they’re folded back out it’s not the end of the world in my eyes. Lol. Thanks for watching !

JUSTINHAWKSMITH pretty much my thinking about my truck. The chrome on the bumper accents my forces really well but part of me thinks color match might be sweet too. I’m definitely painting my grille to avoid the chrome bubbling. I’ll probably just buy a billet mesh grille and paint match the outside, and I’d like to get a cowl hood

King Pin Fabrications I love my hood, and yeah I’m thinking about buying a primered new grille on amazon/eBay cause they’re not super pricey. Exactly like what I have, just in case I don’t like it I can go back to chrome. And could always sell my chrome grille if I did like the paint to match one. Yessir 2k spray max clear is awesome. Sadly it still will change the color slightly compared to spraying clear out of a gun. But as far as finish goes you can get a awesome finish out of 2K Clear

Unfortunately I’m not sure about there website, I buy all my paint from a local auto body paint shop, there’s more than likely probably one near you as well. Any body shop would know where to buy some locally I would think.. or google automotive paint stores near me !

Put it in a spray gun on 60psi half water half alcohol. Then compressed air only
