So here is a thought: Psychic reading can never really be specifically be about you. When he tells you these vague things you automatically compare them to yourself and think about how it fits into your story. This causes you to actually think about yourself, look into yourself, become introspective. If you view the psychic reading more as a mirror to your self and a initiation for self reflection, than as a direct personal answer to your questions, it makes a lot more sense.
