They are carnivorous meaning they *only* eat meat *ever* as far as food goes. Vegetarian and vegan cat foods are trying to supplement the entire 100% only thing cats can and should have with alternative proteins that don't even come close to what they need. In small amounts doing this to your cat will be somewhat fine, but in large quantities or maintained over time it is extremely unhealthy for your cats. Cats eat some very small amounts of plants in the wild to help with digestion, they do NOT replace their food with it at all.

They literally can't survive without it, because they are biologically designed that way, they need the Proteins and enzymes in Meat, like Taurin. Btw. all those Proteins are also in Vegetarian/Vegan Cat Food, just in artificial form. So if Cats somehow would not be able to eat Meat, they wouldn't be able to eat Veggie Cat Food either, because it got pretty much the same Stuff in it. Veggie Cat Food is a crazy gimmick for crazy people.

Shayne picking the one type of food where the strongest reactions he's had have been "I couldn't tell until it was in my stomach" and "Yeah this is strong" while eating both easily is so funny. Especially with the contrast of Garrett violently yeeting into the bucket to Shayne's kitchen footage where he just kinda looks like it's just a very disappointing dessert more than anything else. A lot of people argue that insects don't count for vegetarianism. Health, environmental and animal cruelty are typically the reasons people go vegetarian and eating bugs fits all that criteria. Vegan, however, would be a no go.

Vegetarians can eat bugs if they so choose. A lot of them do for protein. Hell there are some and I know some that will eat fish as they don’t feel fish contradict there vegetarian diets.
