I clogged my bf's toilet when we were together for like 1 month. I was mortified and had to tell him because like the story, the water started rising. I called over my bf almost crying and he came in and I told him that my poop wouldn't flush and that I was mortified. He started laughing but was also so sweet at the same time. He tried to unclog the toilet to no avail so he had to tell his mom, which made me freak out even more. He took the fall for me and told his mom HE clogged the toilet again, she just answered annoyed and said "again??". 1,5 years later we're still going strong.

It’s a fine balance between humor to light things up and respect and silence to allow the poor woman in pain to focus. My husband is the funny type also and that helped a lot during labor, but he was also crucial with other things (like fanning me for 3hs so I wouldn’t through up) so I’m guessing maybe the guy in the story wasn’t as strong with the helping as he thought he was with the funny.

Im glad Ian disagreed with that toxic positivity comment about "if you have confidence, those comments wont effect you." To me, having confidence means you can move on easier from nasty comments etc rather than not being effected by them in the first place. I had therapy to "stop being so emotional" and realised that actually, the emotions were valid, I just needed to release them healthier and in a way that meant I could easily snap back to how I was before. An upset would wipe me out for DAYS and now it wipes me out for maybr an hour max, usually only 15 minutes. When I learnt who I was, suddenly insults etc bounced off me and if any got through, it was out of my mind later that day. Whereas before, I'd have dwelled on it for HOURS.

Also it speaks volumes that he valued his relationship with Claire over his current girlfriend, so much so that Claire apparently was also in favor of him dumping his girlfriend? My thought is that Claire and the boyfriend both held a candle out for each other, and the lingerie was a way to test the waters and see how receptive they were to each other all the while writing it off as an "inside joke." And once the girlfriend showed any amount of disapproval, they turned that against her and made it seem like she was the bad guy in all of this. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if after the break up, he and Claire started going out immediately.

The gas Damien is talking about at 56:01 is sulfur hexafluoride. It's basically the opposite of helium, being six times heavier than air instead of six times lighter. It's non-toxic, but because it's heavier, it can settle in your lungs and displace all the oxygen if you breathe too much of it, so it's not recommended that you try the voice-changing effect at home. Guuuurl...the first time I stayed over at my bf's place I clogged the toilet, but it's a mobile home toilet, which are notoriously prone to clogging, and it ain't the first time I've done that. The plunger wasn't working, so I taught him the bucket trick. Or as Call the Midwife says, "High, hot, and a helluva lot!" (I know they were talking about enemas, but that's what pops into my head, lol) I've clogged my besties toilet twice, in two different residences, and there were circumstances that led to both that were beyond my control, so it was simply bad luck. I had to mop shitty water off the floor over and over wringing out a single paper towel like a sponge because she's a germaphobe and they had no more paper towels. Embarrassing af, and I have chronic back pain, so it really friggin hurt, but it's not worth ending either relationship over. I did buy myself a crazy pressurized air plunger set though. Plus, I now do the first flush almost immediately, lol. I can understand both sides of that one as bowel problems are something societally we treat with shame and as taboo, which is ridiculous because it's something that everyone does! Even people with ostomies deal with poop, just in a little different way. It is one of the nearly universal traits of being a complex lifeform! What is there to be embarrassed about or ashamed of? Feel bad? Sure, it feels bad to disrupt someone's life with one of your most vulnerable functions, but no decent person, especially one who cares for you, is going to yell at you or make fun of you for it. As they said, shit happens. Thankfully my two besties and I all have various ibs problems and we all text from the toilet and as I'm medically knowledgeable one of them is always asking me crazy stuff, but yo, if you can't talk to your bestie or partner about those things, who can you?

Lingerie Story: Hearing Claire's reaction to the situation was the most wild part to me. I'm the "female best friend" to a couple people in relationships, and while I'll make the occasional risque joke to these friends, it's ONLY if their partners are comfortable with it. If their partners aren't okay with it, I respect that and don't make those kinds of jokes- simple as that. I rather be on good terms with my friends' partners if I can help it, as they're important to my friend. If I found out my friend wanted to buy me lingerie and it made their partner uncomfortable? I'd probably be apologizing over and over to the partner, while having a stern conversation with my friend about how that wasn't cool. So hearing Claire tell her that you need to get over it is wild and just screams "pick me" energy.
@nunyabizness61135 ай бұрын
Also the fact that he said "Claire and I talked and we don't like how you're making us out like cheaters" like who cares what Claire thinks your girlfriend is uncomfortable and you're choosing another woman. Claire is going to ruin a lot of relationships for him she sounds like the type of girl who doesn't want to date this guy who is clearly in to her but she will always try to make sure she's a priority over any girl he dates and it sounds like Kyle is in the same boat with the stuff he said about Claire. They both should distance from her if they ever want to get married or have a family and stop waiting for her to "settle" for one of them
@ariannayoung15284 ай бұрын
What do you mean “and if it made their partner uncomfortable?” what partner wouldn’t be uncomfortable in that situation? and the risky jokes, who wouldn’t be uncomfortable with those either? why make those types of jokes with someone who’s already in a relationship? that’s weird; no matter what
@bleedingcowboys71474 ай бұрын

@@bleedingcowboys7147 yep it's exactly like that. Different folks have different senses of humor and comfort levels. Plus there's the whole element of trust you have in your partner. As a fat adult, people still do this 🫠 It’s not that hard to say nothing. People Saying “oh no, you’re not” is showing me that people are uncomfortable with me addressing my fatness. It can depend how you say it tho! Like if someone says “oh no I’m so fat” that’s obviously a different story. Regardless people need to start equating fatness to badness!

Two things here: One is that you have prescribed being a lil fat as an independent event to being beautiful, and unfortunately the world hasn't yet accepted that fully. Secondly, I'm inclined to agree with the world view if and only if you are medically obese and in danger of various health risks associated with it (like me actually)
