My thing with the cat story is OP clearly cared enough about her cat to ask her cousin to catsit while she was busy, so clearly she cared enough to find her someone to keep her company. She also has vet bills so she was taking care of her health as well. In my mind there is no way she is an ahole in this situation
@imnotgoodwithnames41018 ай бұрын
My guess for why everyone flipped sides so fast in the third story is that the catnappers claimed the OP was doing truly horrendous stuff to her cat, which was why they had such a knee jerk at first towards her. And than when they realized the cat was in obviously good health and that the thieves were lying they were appalled they'd make stuff like that up about a family member.

People do this kind of stuff over cars, trinkets, and all manner of other things people own with real or sentimental value, it's how the world works, the fact it's a pet and not an inanimate object makes it 100 times worse and viscerally infuriating. Kudos to doll girl not forgiving him. He literally tossed away part of her personality AND family heirlooms who carried a lot of emotional connections to her. He didn’t even thought twice while doing it and he made sure that they were completely gone. He acted like he thought that she would be angry and pissed as if he broke her new hairdryer. He realized his mistake ONLY when he saw that she is not angry she is completely heartbroken and devastated. Not only that but after she forgiven him (bless her soul) he showed her his posts on Reddit where he was talking about “correcting her only flaw” and describing how he did all that without any doubt or thinking about her feelings
@alyssatheexcellent8 ай бұрын
It was only when he saw that he affected someone else that he felt bad. And that was only because he was afraid he was going to lose control. So he decided to take control and replace the dolls FOR her. If I had made that huge mistake on some sort of impulse I would have been begging the trash companies to let me sift through garbage to at least get shreds of garments out for her. But it wasn’t on impulse. He fumed and did it and literally kept fuming as he watched the garbage collectors take the dolls and dump them and drive away. And truly- if your girlfriend’s ONLY flaw is that she likes creepy dolls that she’s willing to stow away for you- you’ve hit the jackpot. I have dated men (VERY FAR IN THE PAST- I think I’ve kept higher standards since) who wear their underwear inside out for a “second use” before washing them.

As someone who was born and raised in CA, the nitpicky shit that family can do to eachother just blows my mind. Most of the rest of my family lives in a middle American state, and they have petty squabbles all the time, where people are demanding that you take a side. The rest of my family lives in an eastern red state, and they don't have these nitpick-y squabbles. So I really think it comes down to both familial relationship strengths, and regions.. How anyone could believe this pet owner is in the wrong, even for taking their pet back from a house they have a key to, and threatening to get them arrested for that -- that just blows my mind. I don't think anyone in my family would even start this situation, and if a 15-year-old kicked it off, they'd just give it back and question all the things the 15-year-old is saying. Think about it for a second: this is a good pet owner. They want to make sure their pet is taken care of at all times, even when they're away. The 15-year-old takes care of it, falls in love with it, kidnaps it, then makes the pet-owner out to be the devil in order to try to justify keeping it + kidnapping it. Blood should be thicker than water. However in some places blood is only as thick as hydrogen, apparently. It's just sad.

In the last story, there's also the possibility that the sister has always envisioned herself pregnant while having her own baby bump affectionately and attentively touched by her husband. She may be incredibly emotional about, and unable to come to terms with, the fact that this can never happen for her, as someone rubs on her baby, cradled within her sister's belly and she's left with the exceptionally sad realization that this image she's always had for herself can never become a reality.
