@dazzlerweb
I've gone through class d amps like underwear the last couple of years, and the AO200 MKII is in a league of its own for an XLR amp in this price range.
@gbmwaz
What other amps around $250 outperform this then???? You say there are "a lot of better ones"...I'm still looking - can't find ANY
@RoyFJ65
SMSL SA400 and VMV A2 has this long time user of big heavy AB amps impressed to say the least.
@vinylmonster4907
Thanks for this. I'm curious if you have any information about the SMSL AO300 released Sept. 2023? Has both USB and HDMI with front headphone jacks. There is no information about it on KZbin.
@JosephTongret
The most exciting thing in hifi today is the "budget" end of the market (imo of course). It's torn down the barrier of entry. You can get so much more for your investment now and it's happened in a relatively short period of time. I just subbed to you today because I want to hear the thoughts and opinions of younger people in the hobby. Thanks for taking the time to create your videos!
@lehsu
You say for $250, there are lots of other options. What do you recommend instead of the MKii?
@JR-ho5qm
I wonder how these ChiFi amps, especially this one would compare to the Emotiva A2 mini? Would the Emotiva play louder?
@grogmonster2408
How about the Smsl A300 any better sounding than the Ao200 MK11 ?
@lisar3944
I also felt lukewarm about this one, too. I wanted to upgrade from my da9....just because? You know how it goes. Anyway, it was just way too bright for me. I totally relate to endlessly playing around with the tone controls to make it sound "normal", and it changed depending on what I was listening to. Yes on some recordings it was nicely "sparkly" in the high end, but it just as easily tended towards shrill. I found myself feeling angry after a short time of listening to it - just agitated - maybe that is my reaction to listening fatigue :D
@boubakane
Hi there
@PK92156
I intended to buy Fosi V3, which is cheaper, but then cancelled my order. Big thing with AO200 mk2 is balance inputs and proper sub inputs, not the the fixed preamp!? like Fosi V3 which for me is useless. Also AO 200 mk. is for sure more powerful as it has big PSU and 1,6 kg. I guess the sound is pretty much the same, as some users reported.
