I've been living with this dac for 2 months now (optical in from Yamaha cd player) and i must admit that i'm just now rediscovering my cd collection.Hearing things i never heard before with excellent detail and superb soudstage.For the asking price this it THE bargain of the year ,believe me !

@@sweethouse8999 Clear and detailed midrange ,of course i use planar headphones through dacs dedictaed hp out .Very analogue sound ,can't wait to hook it up to my Simaudio integrated amp . (soon)

First 300se from amazon turned on but could not get any sound. Second works, updated firmware via usb and now smsl software cannot detect 300se via usb. Sound is solid. Virtually zero depth and resolution. Average details. A bit warm so could not consider it lean and clean. Full note quality. Sounds like a single dac. Not much difference in sound from my asus stx. Basically cirrus is very similar to a burson sound signature. Bought shanling h5. Everything on the Shanling H5 worked out of the box including the shanling usb dac software. H5 got that shanling sound. Much better dac but 3x the price.😅

Hello! so.. stack (SMSL SUI-1 with SMSL HO100) is better than M300 SE ?? for the fullsize sensual headphones (HarmonicDyne Zeus)

Hii there! M300 SE is slightly beneath the stack, but if you can, I would rather recommend SMSL DO400, better than either, pricier, but not larger. That stack has more noise, but also more detail

If you have good monitors, I would pick JDS Labs Atom DAC 2 and Atom AMP 2, the background noise is lower, sound is cleaner, and more dynamic overall
