They are ellipsoids. Since they are scaled by altering only one dimension from a sphere, they are ellipsoids that are more specifically called spheroids. Since the one axis of scaling is smaller than the equator diameter, they are more specifically called oblate spheroids, as many others have already noted.

I have a 21 year old Loch Lomond that was distilled in 1998, the same year my daughter was born. I am opening it when my Grandson is old enough to enjoy it. He just turned 18 months, so it's gonna sit in the bottle a few more years.
