Her mother is very protective, and turns down more than 90% of offers that have come her way, including Disney, cause she wants her to remain in school, with her friends in Norway. She does have her in a after school program for music and voice, she also plays piano, flute and violin. They have done a few things that don't take her away from school. She just wants to to remain a child as long as possible, they do a lot of charity events cause that is important to Angelina, and she doesn't ware shoes while she sings cause, because she is honoring poor children in the world who do not have shoes, and one child in particular in India who she gave her own shoes to, and she wrote a book about it.

How many super-talented child start have gone around the bend in their teens? Too many to count! Angelina was 9 years and 2 months old when she arranged and did "I put a spell on you", and 10 when she performed "Feeling fine". Her family was firm on one thing: She was a child and should be allowed to be a normal child and finish her schooling before going "commercial", turning down offers from high-profile organizations like Disney. Her public appearances were few and only for worthy causes, but she has been singing her heart out on KZbin. She will turn 17 in January 2023.

Angelina is of course a prodigy. But what not so many know is that she have had her vocal coaching at a school for music and performence art from an early age, so she is also a trained progigy. She have also gotten very influenced by her grandmother who is a known poet and jazz singer. On “I put a spell on you” Angie said it in an interview a year later (when she was around 10 at interview) about this song: “It means love Desperate love. The same thing was said of Jackie Evancho when she sang opera on America's Got Talent in 2010 at the age of ten. Jackie is to opera/classical crossover what Angelina is to blues/jazz. They are both supremely talented singers in their chosen categories, although Jackie just turned 19, so she's not really a kid anymore. Another young lady to watch is 14 year old busker Allie Sherlock from Cork, Ireland, who is burning up KZbin at the moment and has signed a record deal with Ryan Tedder of the band OneRepublic.

Yes, I'm sure it's her parents. Of course we all agree: She needs to have a childhood, so she can meet the world with strength and confidence. She should make music when it's fun. Hello Sandy!! Enjoyed your videos regarding Angelina Jordan. What strikes me is not that mature voice she has at that age but her style!! I can't think of one Jazz singer today that is her equal. Angelina is an interpretive genius in the style of Ella, Sarah, Nancy and a few others and she puts that on display with songs like the two you review here. And then add a song like "California Dreamin" by the Mamas and Papas and hear the arrangement so as to fit Angelina's style (my impression is Angelina is the boss when it comes to deciding how a piece of music is to be arranged) and you just give in to her. I think you underestimate Angelina's popularity. I think a great many people in the industry know of her and she has a huge following. Last year Angelina was invited to sing at Quincy Jones 85th birthday in London (type in "Angelina Jordan Quincy Jones London" in you-tube search and it will pop-up) and you can add that to your review list.
