Hello there here, I watched several of your segments. This one, peeked my curiosity, as I've got two 65 Mustangs, one of which is under construction.. 2nd, I have my father's 47 Ford, that we had installed a Heidts Mustang II kit on years before.. And it suffered from a terrible bump steer issue, from early on.. I had spent years, trying many things, to improve or fix the problem, to no avail. Im glad that guy, who spotted your Fox era tie rod end, saved you, from quite a bit of trouble pal.. I'm glad it all worked out, at least I 🤔 think I read your response, to a recent viewer.. I'm am subscribed.. Have at it pal....

Awesome! Just got my 62 Falcon home, have the AJE K member, ordered a manual rack and manual bumpsteer kit. If you stay about a month ahead of me, I'll just watch and learn from you!

@@FollowTheBuilds I've been doing it all wrong!!! Btw, any chance you could measure the dimensions caster camber mount? The distance between the 4 studs...it may just be me, but the top of the Falcon shock tower looks tiny.
@FollowTheBuilds
@FollowTheBuilds 3 жыл бұрын
@@SchofieldBrothersRacing The studs are offset so you will need about 4.25” square mounting area. The distance between the 3/8” studs is 2 7/8”.

Just found the channel. Awesome build. Will all this work on 66? Just got a fastback to build. I’m local to DFW also if there’s a way I can pick your brain I’d appreciate it. Saw your TCU hat in the vids. Thanks man

I know this is an old video, but I just found the channel. Great videos, I've watched the whole front suspension series. Good production, entertaining, and I've wondered about this conversion. How is it working out to run heim joints on the street? I'm a little concerned they might wear out rapidly because they aren't well sealed.

Many thanks for this note. This set up is working very well so far. I don’t have ANY complaints. I’ve also wondered about the joints wear and tear. No issues and I’ve been careful to put it on the rack for inspections monthly now. But I’d love to see a bushing set up with the 11.5” LC ARM. Plz keep in touch. Thanks again!

Have you driven your car with sn95 suspension yet? Wondering how it handles and feels. Love the build. Lots of information

Many thanks! I’m hopeful to get engine built and get the wheels turning by early spring. That will be the the real test but it really seems like it’s all going to work well. If you get a chance check out the FB group AJE Colt 65 Classic Ford. Some great wheels down examples there. Plz keep watching!

Why didn't you just shift the sway bar mount closer to the front of the car to get the sway bar alignment right
@FollowTheBuilds
@FollowTheBuilds 3 жыл бұрын
Could totally have done that...but I did want to keep it in stock location. Hindsight it would have kept that awesome powder coating by Racecraft awesome.

Hey man, I am cutting out my shock towers today, but I've been reading that Falcons sit too high in the front without drop spindles because the Falcon shock towers are shorter than Mustang shock towers. Any chance you could measure yours from the top of the factory frame rail to the top of the factory shock mount? I am thinking I will have to either cut the shock tower out completely and move it up or break down and by the AJE mini towers.

could u use a stock suspension off a sn 95 none of that looks stock

You can use stock SN95 spindle/brakes. Coil-overs would need to be aftermarket.

What happens if you had kept the wrong tie rods?
@FollowTheBuilds
@FollowTheBuilds 3 жыл бұрын
Here there! The fox tie rod ends are tapered and the drop spindles are incorrect diameter/made for bolt thru tie rod ends. It would have fit loose and could not have got alignment dialed in.

You modified upper control arms, installed them upside down and on the wrong sides

Curious of the options for the tie rods? Will a SN95 tie rod screw onto a Fox Rack? If not, is the Maximum Motorsports the only option? Thanks
@FollowTheBuilds
@FollowTheBuilds 3 жыл бұрын
Great question...so I discovered the SN95 rack is metric and fox has standard threads. You can use either rack but tie rod ends will have to match the generation you choose.

I've watched all your videos and don't see anything about brakes. What front brakes are you using?
@FollowTheBuilds
@FollowTheBuilds 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It looks like S197 brakes will work. I’m making a bracket to fit to the SN95 spindle. This is mainly because I have S197 13.2” brakes on hand. Just threw paint on the fastback so as soon as get those pieces back on I want to configure brakes. Will make a vid of those mods. Alternatively SN95 Cobra brakes or just about any SN95 aftermarket will work.
