Sorry missed the first part. I bought one of these and there was no temperature control. Just plug it in and it's on... unplug it and it's off. Food burned on the edges and cold on the inside. Yep... I fell for it.

HAHAHA I mean I wasn't born yet I was born in 1993 so I saw the Redi set Go machine and the other shit around the early 2000s she made.. but she is honestly a marketing genius. I swear. If I watched this and it was 1990 and I wanted this maker I would've probably bought it

Cathy Mitchell “In ’89, the FCC released the half-hour infomercial format where you could buy a half an hour of time. Everyone was kind of scrambling,” she said. “I think Ron Popeil probably did the first one, but I was one of the first three. The guy who owned the Snackmaster said, ‘Hey, these TV commercial things are kind of interesting, why don’t we try one?’ We went down to a little studio in San Diego, rented it for five hours. By today’s standards it was like, hey, let’s put on a show in the garage. No food stylist, no makeup lady. You know, I had to borrow a lipstick from the secretary in the outside office’s purse. But funny story, because afterward, the guy who owned the company said, ‘You know, we never talked about paying you. I’ll give you a thousand dollars for your time here today or I’ll give you fifty cents for every machine we sell. But bear in mind we might not sell any.’ So I took the 50 cents and we sold a million machines.”

I had a toastie maker. What they don't tell you is about the bit when you bite into your 'nicely browned' toasted sandwich and a liquid hot lava composed of what ever you had filled in between the bread would come flooding out at temperatures of 1000℃ resulting in your mouth being burned to hell and an involuntary Wilhelm scream emanating from your vocal cords. Yeah, they conveniently leave that bit out!
